How to make coffee: the history of Espresso

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Have you ever wondered how the first coffee tasted back then when i was first discovered?
In the 16th century, explorers, mechants, botanists took to the west the knowledge of the existence of this drink that, at that time, it was considered almost as a very powerful and expensive medicine. It’s fame spread from Africa, then the middle East and then to Europe.
It was called the black gold, something never tasted before! And people wanted it! A lot!
With this video i don’t want to talk about that, the history of coffee, that will be for another video of this series. I want to talk about the history of espresso: the evolution of this brewing method, its taste, and why it happened in Italy.

Hope you got a Gaggia! I learned a lot from my first true espresso machine, in 2020 I bought a Gaggia Classic Pro. Now I roast my own beans too with a Kaleido M2 home roaster machine. Yes, I have OCD...obsessive coffee disorder.

Wow… what an amazing video! After 45 years of coffee drinking, Starbucks, and US Navy style coffee, I had my first cup of espresso. My family bought me a DēLonghi espresso/cappuccino maker for my birthday… what a beautiful gift !!! I tasted my first cup of espresso and I fell in love. Your video is a great way to learn the history and mechanics behind the art of espresso brewing. Thank you so much, and happy sipping!

Welcome. I own the same machine but I am going to upgrade to a Gaggia. I like saying Gaggia. And it was the first espresso machine. My coffee journey started in Germany when I was in university The coffee was so much richer than what we had in the US. Like Navy coffee. Now I find myself in Madagascar and I will bring my Delonghi Dedica and my Gaggia grinder to a coffee region in Madagascar. I cannot wait to have traditionally roasted coffee made in a traditional espresso machine.

Great video. Other videos ignore the fact that a high pressure creates what is basically a different drink.

The ultimate history of espresso is in a nutshell: Italians couldn't manage to make Turkish coffee and invented a machine for it in 20th century.😄
