By far the best engineering video I've watched in years😭😭😭 I wanna cry. It's all about the practical and not "your" preferences. Straight to the point. Amazing.
Good vid, but i think it would have been better if the on / off comparisons would have been of the singer singing the same line so you can hear the exact differences.

I studied Audio Engineering at SAE in 1987, now I'm learning how to do it all on the computer, it's a bit different to chalk and a razor blade! :)

the upward compression after gate was a fantastic tip! I've been commenting on a lotta your videos, I feel like we've built a good connection at this point haha, actually I myself am a mixing engineer. I do mastering as a creative fun thing, I am not a mastering engineer lol(of course I know, but knowing and doing professionally are different things, different set of ears). But I watch all your videos, It helps me refresh techniques that I could forget and I also put my ego aside while watching your videos because even though I am a mixer, there is no end to gaining knowledge and you never know, someone else might know things which you had no idea of. Keep it up!
