How to Make Champleve Cloisonne Enamel. Enameling techniques. Tutorial. (Green Moth)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I'm going to show you how I made this cloisonne champleve green moth pendant using fine silver and vitreous enamel. I started with cutting out the shape with my saw. I fused it with another sheet to create the base. I domed the piece to prevent worping.
I sifted the back with black opaque enamel. I did two coats. I fired it in my kiln. Next I sifted the front with the clear coat. Fired it again.
After I folded the cloisonne wires to match the design.
Next I'm applying the colors, firing it and repeat the process two more times.
Last step is the sanding process. Enamel loses it's shine during this process so I fire it again to get the shine back.
And it's done! I hope you like it and learned something new!
Thanks for watching!

This is a wonderful video of how you created your jewelry piece. I was glad to hear the truth of how long it takes to do cloisonne wire work... 8 hours, wow. Then of course all the other time to do the b4 and after to a finished polished piece. Well done. I subscribed and will look forward to more clips. Thanks, Mare

Hi Frida, I'm curious. If you had the necessary equipment, or you were to job out the casting, wouldn't it be easier to make a wax pattern with all the necessary details included, cast your pendant and then clean up the casting before enameling? Also, once you had a cleaned casting, you could use it to make a silicone mold for making wax injections of your pendant. This would then allow you to make wax patterns for pendants, later on. Another option would be to 3D design and print wax patterns of your pendants. It's just a guess, but with the correct 3D design file, it shouldn't take that long to print out the wax patterns if done with a fast printer like a "Bambu" 3D printer. Now this approach might be a more expensive, initially, but over the long haul, I'm guessing it would be less expensive/per piece, and probably be an overall time saver for you. Now, forget everything I just said, if you were only wanting to do one pendant. It just seemed that eights hours was quite a bit of time. Although, if just one pendant was the goal, I'm guessing probably not. Lastly, I have to say, I've really been enjoying your videos! Very informative! Frida è veramente bello, brava! Which kind of glue do you use to put in place the strings of metal, it is glue for enamel?

Your fusing process with the tweezers, does the heat take the temper out of the metal of the tweezers?
