I did it once on accident! Took a (pressurized) keg of water to the Boonville Beer fest to stay hydrated, and upon first tapping I had soda water!😁

Juiced some strawberries, pasteurized the juice, and added it to a keg of water for some sparkling water goodness. Always nice to have a non-alcoholic something on tap. 😃

I do this all the time. Drink way more sparkling water than beer. Also a big fan of vodka sodas on tap, works great with the flavored vodka. 3 750s of vodka + top up the keg with water is so much better than the malt-based sparkling seltzers.

Great content! I always try to have carbonated water on tap. I do think that with these keezer series, you could go into quick carb methods - rolling, carb stone, etc. With hop water video, are you planning to go into water chemistry, at least pH and contrast adding hops to cold vs hot water?

To make club soda for a five gallon batch I will dissolve in a cup of hot water 1.5 teaspoons of the following: Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda), non-iodize table salt (iodine will leave a not so good flavor) and food grade potassium carbonate. Add the cup of those dissolved salts in the keg and fill up with water. And continue on as in with the video to carbonate. The salts in club soda will help balance out the carbonic acid of the dissolve CO2 gas. Home made club soda makes for a good Italian soda.

I love this idea. It's basically a SodaStream that doesn't suck as much haha thanks! I've heard carbonation can weaken bones, makes me wonder if other gasses like Nitrogen do the same. ---OK and this next part is admittedly nonsense but idk why I find it fascinating haha --- 3:11 "Ba-da-boom, ba-da-bing!" not sure why I get a kick out of this, but I've always heard it said "ba-da-bing, Ba-da-boom!" lol. It's silly but it sounded so foreign to me, which made me wonder where the idiom even came from and it's original meaning for its time - for example, some part of me always thought it was about bombs, and you make the detonator go" bing" before it goes "boom". Or maybe it's an imitation of an epic drum accompanying sound, so I'd think ending with a boom would serve to pique audience interest and a bing is like the fake bass drop to build anticipation for the boom 😆

Don't bury the headline....badda boom! 😜 IDK why I said it backwards. When the camera bings I go 💥 and can't think straight lol. cheers 🍻 loved reading this one! ❤️

Is it possible to carbonate room temperature water, then chill after? My idea is to switch between two kegs in my normal refrigerator. Having one being carbonated outside of the refrigerator at room temp while having the other pre-carbonated chilling in the refrigerator.

I've made carbonated water many times, but I have well water, which I wanted to sanitize before kegging. In my opinion, carbonated mineral water is far more flavorful and enjoyable than the typical low-mineral municipal water. If I am going to boil to sanitize, I could also adjust the mineral content. Looking at the TDS contents of natural mineral water sold in Europe, the better ones are higher in Mg. So, adding MgSO4, which dissolves fairly easily, to the water while boiling greatly improves the flavor. Just stay below about 150ppm Mg, unless you also want a laxative. This water is also a great addition to a pint of beer at the tap - make a heavy beer less heavy or make double IPA into an IPA with 1:5 water to beer.

@@MoreBeer_several reviews about a missing o-ring, did you have any issues with leaks or are these just upset customers that couldn’t figure out how to solve the problem? I’ve been considering adding a flow control tap and have regular perlick faucets right now, is there a big enough difference in quality to consider nukataps and is there truly an issue without the o-ring?

I keep a keg of mineral water (Topo Chico clone) on tap. I've used it for various drink mixes, and it would probably be decent for soda as well. I may even consider doing up an "endless" water system, but this would just be filtered water.
