Hey, pretty nice what you did there, man. Could you tell me how did you get the this much brightness on the red LED, or just what should I look out for to avoid it being too bright or too dim? I ask this, because you other video with a 5mm LED panel has put me in doubt, for the "mcd" range as well as the current range was very broad and wasn't too precise on showcasing the different LEDs. But altogether super great video and content you make, keep it up!

The 5mm red led is a basic led with brightness: 5 mcd / angle 60° with 1K ohm resistor for 12V, and when you want less light then use 2K ohm for make the led less bright. ( use more resistors for make the led less bright ) Example: 5 mcd is soft light and 5000 mcd is bright light and 15000 mcd is very bright light. Angle 15 ° 30 ° 60 ° 90 ° 120 ° light to spread. The 5mm LED panel are all very bright clear led lights, The leds that I use are the basic LED colors green / yellow / red

​@@ledmk2 Thx for the reply! Wow, just 5 mcd and this bright ... Thought it was minimum 3000 mcd. But I guess i'll buy one with a reasonable mcd rating, then later I use resistors or PWM to dim it

No they have all own resistor with other value. You need to use a LED calculator (online) for get the resister for the leds that you use.

what and why did you file? just curious this is something i would like to do aswell. just finished swapping clusters in my 88 fox (to add tack and digi clock) however the lights are definently needing an led upgrade. i like how you added more leds to light up mileage counter. and which wires in the original dash light wiring did you add them into? good video!

I file leds for better distribution of light, connect the leds to the wire from dash light / headlight switch

Noticed your oil light/buzzer is on as well, ever find a solution to this? I’ve tried a lot.

I get a leaking oil sensor in the engine and the light stay on after i change it in a new oil sensor, sometime the led light goes off, I think the oil pump inside the engine is not 100% good anymore (to low oil press). or the oil sensor that i change is not the good one but i also change it already again in an other oil sensor and it still light up, the car still drive even with the led light on, so i dont know exactly what the problem is. The 'Buzzer" sound i remove out of the instrument panel, so that i not have that sound anymore

100% oil pump is fill whit filth , better change it as soon as possible because higher motor speed less oil you are getting distributed in upper parts of your motor . In moust of cases it's starts whit buzzer/light when you are in lower gear and hitting 130-150km/h Than stoppeds and after is going whit every turn on key and starting the engine. So better replace as soon as possible. And it's not so difficult fix at all And yes may change the chain as well the don't broke so often like oil pump :) If I can help in some way I better whit VW Diesel engines ;) And yes great product great video and grate channel! For all Serbian Vw forum club you are a true inspection over the years and I think generation to come :) Keep up the great work!

Hey! You have the same kind of car as I do, I got a Golf 2 GTI 16v Anyhow, I was wondering if you are planning to do a DIY video on how to demount/fix a failing window winder that is manual operated? I am a bit scared of demounting the interior to get to the window winder part, and also how to repair it (right now when window goes down its "hopping" almost like it does not have pressure to the winder anymore

It is not on my planning, but you need the same part from an other golf 2, In this video you can see a little bit what is behind the door panel plastic, remove the plastic careful, not same as how i did. as i can see in my video at 0:49 there are 4 bolts from the window frame and 2 bolts from the window handle. turn the window first little down for can see how the window is mounted. How did you remove the needles?

Speed needle 0:27 set the needle at 50 km/h and fits at the back Tape (see video) so that the needle not can move anymore, then with fingers turn the needle up and down till it comes loose. after remove needle not remove the tape. when u put needle back on then set needle at 50km/h and press needle and remove the tape at the back and the needle fall down to 0. RPM needle pull with fingers off.

my resistors can be not good for your led light, use a LED Calculator for the leds that you using for get the good resistors value.
