Hello, thank you for all your great videos ! I did the treatment with a tank for cold immersion, but I had a problem. When I put in the 2 products (borax and boric acid - which was in powder form), it formed a sort of plate with a rather hard bottom. I spent over an hour grinding it into small balls and powder. But even so, after 2-3 days, I don't have the impression that it's really diluting in the water, even if I stir it as soon as it comes to a standstill, it's sinking back to the bottom (maybe it's happening little by little, but I can't see any change with my eyes? I made the mistake of putting the products directly into the tank water and not mixing them beforehand - could that be the cause? I also had river water, so it's cold, could that affect dilution? The first time it never goes as planned :) Thanks for your advice/experience/feedback! Léo

Hello, I have never had that problem, the last time I added straight into the tank without premixing. You can try pre mixing, add a little at a time and stir, it eventually should dissolve for you. Can try using small bucket of heated water to dissolve.

Thought to ask a couple questions for my bamboo outdoor wall idea, with the intended purpose of a privacy screen and/or an unsealed-airy shed wall. No structural strength needed, as I'm currently planning. >> 1- Do you think skipping the full tank soak, and instead just leaving the bottom of fresh bamboo sitting in a 5-gal bucket of solution-- would be moderately successful to deter the bugs? 2- Do you think building the walls immediately would be problematic, given the outdoor purpose I stated? Appreciate any advice!

Heat treatment works just as well as using borax. You do have to pierce the inner nodes so they don't blow out from the excessive heat and cause cracking. You also have to be careful with not burning it, but it can be a great way to cure AND straighten the poles at the same time.
