Thank you
Hi thankyou for sharing wonderful Tips !I would like to know is it important to add coconut Oil to the Beewax ?And what exactly does it do for the candle when coconut oil is added to the mix ?
Love this new idea of making wax melts. I do have a question how many oz of fragrance oil do I need instead of essential oil?
@beeswaxandwicks

That is a great question! It may be the same ratio, I've never tried using Fragrance oils, though I do know they are typically stronger.
Can you do more videos on wax melts? I have so much to learn and I am clueless 😅

Hey there! Absolutely, I am out of wax at the moment but once I order more I can make more wax melt videos!! Thanks for your feedback! :)
Great video! How long will these melts last in a warmer? Scentsy made me sick so I got rid of the wax but I still have the warmers. I assume I can use those melts with a Scentsy warmer. 😉

Thanks so much! These are still in the testing phase, but it's typical for them to last 8-10 hours. The scent for my Sage Wisdom wax melts is light, but will fill a smaller room very well! Definitely won't make you sick, I don't use any artificial fragrance in my products :)
Hello, if you use 12oz of wax then 9 teaspoons of coconut oil, does that not increase the wax volume which would then increase essential oil needed? If that makes sense 😊
Hi there. Amazing video. May I know why you used coconut oil?

Thank you! I use coconut oil to help slightly lower the melting point, which helps keep my candles from tunneling. I have a full blog post about using coconut oil in Beeswax candles on my site, Beeswaxandwicks.com Thank you for commenting!

@@beeswaxandwicks thank you. I know you have mentioned the measurements but just for knowledge,what's the percentage of coconut oil you add ?

@Beeswax & Wicks is beeswax better than coconut wax? I was thinking of starting out with a soy/coconut wax blend but I have no idea what percentage of each to use...can it be a 1to1 ratio? Does it matter? Where can I find out more?
Any tips on why mine smell like almost nothing? I looked up the flashpoint and poured the oils in at the right temp and ratio. And poured at the right temp. They’ve only been sitting for two hours, does it take time to develop?

Some essential oils have a much more potent aroma than others, could I ask which ones you used? Stirring the oils into the wax for a couple minutes before pouring is supposed to help really bind the oils too. I find that if I use stronger scented essential oils, usually I smell them the best about 2hours into the first burn, and then pretty quickly each burn after! I hope this helps!

That last tip is for candles, but with wax melts you should be able to smell them sooner! It may be the essential oil is a lighter scented one.

@@beeswaxandwicksactually they seem they might be getting stronger the more they sit, also do you have any tips for tunneling on the wax melts clams? I poured at the lowest possible temp I think (145) and tried 2 layers
Hi. Is it ok using beeswax for making wax melts without coconut oil?

Hi there! You can definitely make wax melts without coconut oil, they might just take longer to melt. You don't have to use coconut oil though!

Your website doesnt seem to be working. I'm experimenting with beeswax and coconut oil for melts, and I can barely smell anything. I'm even using fo from different candle suppliers. I want to use this combo, but it seems like everyone has this weak scent problem too.

I posted a video last night with an update as to what's going on with the website. I've noticed especially melts that you need to use essential oils that have a strong scent naturally, like cinnamon, lemon, jasmine, ect. The essential oils with more muted scents are much harder to get a good scent throw from!
I cant get to your website :( could you link what beeswax you use?

@@beeswaxandwicksthank you :) can this same ratio be used for beeswax candles?
How long do you let the wax melts cure before you use them?
@beeswaxandwicks
Жыл бұрын
Great question! I typically let them cure for two or three days. The cure time really helps the Essential oil bond to the Beeswax, but it doesn't need as long to cure as some other types of wax.

@@beeswaxandwicks Thank you so much! I have another question. I made equal parts coconut oil and beeswax, because it wasn't melting fast enough in my warmer. Do you still add the essential oil based on the wax amount? My measurement came to 2 TBS Beeswax 2 TBS Coconut oil and 100 drops of Essential oil.
@beeswaxandwicks

@@jamieketcher I think your formula sounds good! How did the equal parts coconut oil and Beeswax work for you? The ratio of Essential oil should be just fine for one wax melt.

@@jamieketcher How did using equal parts Beeswax and coconut oil work for your wax melt? I think that the Essential oil amount sounds okay, you may even need less oil though with such a small amount of wax.

@@beeswaxandwicks I've been trying to figure out how much essential oil I need depending on how much wax I use. Yours is the only post I've found that says this. I've been doing different mixtures until i came up with the equal parts bc my wax warmer would sit there for days and the wax wouldn't fully melt until i did this. Not really sure why bc it feels super hot to the touch. I also never let it cure before so I'm leaving the ones I made for a week, just to be sure. lol That may be the reason I never had barely any hot throw at all. I am worried though with my measurements, if I tried to sell these outdoors or even in a package through the mail if they would be a melted mess. I'm not really sure how to figure out the new melting point with the two mixed together??
