Thanks so much for the shout out and the awesome video! I still think tokens like these are the best option for representing characters and monsters in our in person games!

The token idea, and the JP Coovert's art were a match made in heaven!

Wow, I really like these. I was looking for ways to create custom vinyl static sheets for my D&D monster case, the one that has the plastic pieces you can stick the vinyl onto for different encounters. Yea, I really like those, so I wanted to find a way to make my own. These seem to be much easier to work with. Thanks a lot for the video.
Pretty sure I am going to use these for D&D inspired games in my classroom. They will stick to the magnetic white board where the dungeon can be laid out.

So much yes to these. Making a few of these for Darkness below after you wrap that up would be fantastic. Or even a special DL for the patreons would be awesome!

Yes, super interested in buying these if you sold them!
These monsters are so gorgeous!! Wow!!
Man. I’ve really enjoying your videos! Some inspiring work. Really love your art style and appreciate your stylized dungeons and character design. Keep up the great work!
This is so much better man then purchasing over priced “tokens” then making them up … thanks !!!!
These are awesome! I have been trying to figure out what types of tokens or miniatures I want to start stocking my DM supplies with- these seem like a great balance of easy to store, colorful, and durable.
I love tokens and you (and everyone!) should totally make them! I love miniatures a lot, but tokens are just so easy and it's great being able to put together wild encounters super quickly. Also so good for traveling with. Awesome video as always!
Game changer! Thanks so much, man! Just ordered the supplies and are going to give this a go!
I will totally use this! Thanks for sharing
Dude, you just got a like and a subscribe! I LOVE THESE! I wish I had seen this video sooner. It will save me so much money buying figures! Thank you and thank you too Sly.
Oh my god, thank you so much for this, I've been looking for something like this exactly for ages!
These look gorgeous, my bruddah! I love the idea of taking your folding paper minis and making them into these 1-inch resin magnet minis instead. I like the uniformity, the finished product, and the extra storage space it creates.

You could also make a 4-inch version of this for some of the larger creatures like your dragon, for example. 🤔
@MrBrandon

I take that back. There aren’t any 4-inch epoxy stickers that I’m seeing. 3-inch was the largest I found and I don’t know if that plays nice with a grid layout.

@@MrBrandon Was thinking about buying some 2 and 3 stickers for that very reason! The Dragon mini, which is the biggest, is only 3 inches!
They look amazing. I already use tokens without images. Will definitely give this a go.
DnD miniatures are back…in pog form!
Gotta admit - I love your channel and these tokens are super awesome. Really impressive! Will definitely try these! thanks!
Love it dude! keep up the good work!
That's a great idea, thanks for sharing!
I would definitely be interested in buying bulk minis like this. I would really like some more serious ones too, akin to your grim dark artwork you did for the black paper grimdark map.
With your awsome artstyle you can make Popsockets aswell. Keep up the great work !!
Hell yes! Those look incredible
These are wonderful, and I would buy them in a heartbeat.
I love this idea, and I love your drawing style! I can see myself investing way too much time in this now…
Very cool! What do you suggest for other size creatures (I.e. small/large/huge/gargantuan)?
Wow, these turned out so nicely. It seems really simple too.

Oh yeah! Thank's for this trick! 👍
I would be extremely interested in a set of these made specifically for Dragon Town, or a PDF of color paper tokens I can cut out myself.
Love the look of these, and I’d love a Patreon tier or a month of the Patreon where these are sent since FSG 10 is now out, and other rewards are being used in the future. What a great video!

The costing/weight of these don't work out for Patreon, but I am working on figuring out a way to get them manufactured and available for purchase! Appreciate the support!
This is incredible and simple and you just solved a major issue for a lot of people, moving from online tabletop back to playing in person. Tokens online are digital art so being able to move it straight over to paper with stylish durable tokens is awesome. Also I can draw my friends and give them cute fridge magnets. Awesome video!

Im 11 years old and im trying to make a board game named 20 days, honestly its pretty hard to make it by myself without much help but this video helped me out a lot!
These are the coolest! I'm wondering - is there a similar options for larger creatures? Like 2x2 or 4x4 and so on?
I've done something similar with Chip Board. Print out a sheet of adhesive photo paper, slap it on the board, cut with a razor. That was good for custom sizes, these look better for uniform sizes. Nice job, they look great!
@JPCoovert

That sounds like a great way to go too! I’m already looking for 2” versions of all this stuff, but maybe I’ll try your chipboard method if I can’t find the magnets!

@@SteveKunec I tried looking for larger scale parts for at least 30 seconds. Best guess is they don't exist lol. I am going to try finding something else for a backing but you can just use 2 part apoxie for the front. I'm 90% sure the surface tension would make it a nice bubble shape as long as you don't pour too much too fast.

Quick search on Amazon reveals there are 2 inch versions of everything you need! Will probably get myself a set for some ogres and dragons!
I just want them as pins now 😂😂
Love the idea. Maybe you can draw a simple battle map on a whiteboard so the magnetic back has a purpose.

What printer do i need for this?
Can someone link maybe the shop stops to get the various parts to make these please?
@JP Coovert Hey man, what kinda printer would you use/recommend for printer stuff this colorful? I'm having an amazing time making tokens after you taught me, but I can never get stuff to look bright enough unless I go to a Print Shop. So what do I have to get if I want to make really REALLY colorful stuff at home??? Thank you so much!! You're an inspiration :)

I use an Epson Surecolor P400. Was recommended that printer by a friend. Otherwise I don't know much about good home printers. Hopefully google can help!
What are the settings you used on photoshop to set up the page? Dimensions, etc
@JPCoovert

8.5 x 11 inches (size of a sheet of printer paper) at 300 dpi resolution. Artwork needs to fit into the one inch circle.
This is an excellent idea! How could this be applied for tokens with two sides? Could the hole punch be used on 3/16" foamcore and then glued to the paper and finally the epoxy disc gets set on either side?
@JPCoovert

Try it!

For two sided tokens, I used double-adhesive gel discs from Amazon. Works pretty well. Using 1.5" dome stickers works very well by using two stickers back to back or by using clear acrylic discs for a backer. I have a question about the dome stickers- sometimes they are a bit tacky on their non-glue sides. I've tried soap and water to attempt to fix that, without success. Have you experienced this? If so, do you have a good solution to decrease or fix the tackiness of the finished side? Thanks! @@JPCoovert
I couldn't find the magnets for 2 inch and above to use for large+ creature sizes. Has anyone found an alternative?
Love it
This is an amazing idea! I’m looking for a good tutorial on how to use procreate/adobe ps to draw & print those pictures to scale on my iPad. Any suggestions??

Just make sure your file is the same size as your printer paper, it's a high resolution (300dpi or higher), and you make 1 inch circles. Good luck!
I’ve been doing something like this, but unfortunately there aren’t any epoxy sticker ranges like 0.5 inch, 2 inch, 4 inch etc to do this for smaller or larger creatures.
@JPCoovert
Жыл бұрын
Haven’t seen .5, but there are 1.5 and 2 inch stickers!
Just a small idea if you want to avoid actual magnets; you can buy metal or plastic washers from any hardware store at just about any size you want. also, a pack of 100 1" plastic washers runs 10$-20$ on amazon if you don't mind them being light weight
@JPCoovert

Good tip! I wanted something with adhesive already on it, but maybe there's another way to stick the paper to the washers? Sticker paper I guess?
Cool.

Had a great time following the tutorial, and you were right! They work great. My only issue is that the Hole Punch you recommended tore my paper at the same spot each time--I think it's just dull in that spot. Do you think this issue is from me using normal printer paper? Will photo paper not have the same issue?@@JPCoovert

@@DylanMixable Sounds like you got a bad hole punch. Sorry it was from my recommendation! They should go thru any kind of paper no problem.
I dunno if the magnets I got were the wrong size by accident or what, but I just ordered them and the size of the magnets were 3/4 of an inch, not a full inch. So maybe there's another magnet product or did I just get hit with Amazon's terrible luck again?

If you used the link in the video description they sent you the wrong size!
@SigilWizardClassic

Yes, I used that link, but the packaging even says "1 inch" so I'm guessing they put the wrong sized magnets into the wrong bag or did they label the bag wrong altogether? Eh. Doesn't matter. I've already put in a return, but I am rather disappointed. I guess I'll order a different set if I can or see if I can't get it at Wal-Mart or something.
