🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴
✅Ingredients
BASIC APPLESAUCE:
• 5 pounds apples: combination of McIntosh, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji, and Jonathan
• 1/2 cup water
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick
OPTIONAL ADD INS:
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
✅Instructions
00:00:09 - What kind of apples to use in homemade applesauce
BASIC APPLESAUCE
1️⃣ 00:00:34 - Peel, core, and slice apples into small chunks. Transfer to a large saucepan or pot.
2️⃣ 00:01:21 - Add in water, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil over high heat and then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let simmer 20-30 minutes until apples are soft.
3️⃣ 00:01:40 - Puree using a blender, food processor, or immersion blender for a smoother applesauce.
OPTIONAL ADD INS
1️⃣ 00:02:06 - For sweetened applesauce, return pureed applesauce to pan. Stir in brown sugar and continue to cook, uncovered, until the applesauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
2️⃣ 00:02:15 - For a more flavorful, dessert type applesauce, stir in butter, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until butter is melted.
SERVING AND STORAGE
Serve warm or cold, or freeze or can using proper canning procedures for later use. Applesauce will stay good refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

I was given a bunch of apples and decided it was time to try and make apple sauce. As I scrolled down through the numerous channels I saw yours and stopped. I knew I didn't need to go any further. I have found your recipes so easy to watch and do. And as an added bonus you mentioned freezing, which was how I wanted to store. Thanks, from a Maine Grammy.

Thank you so much for your video. I followed your directions and made the applesauce very recently and couldn't believe the end results, it came out so good:)
I used 24 cups of Apples I had frozen from two harvests ago. added a little less water, to accomodate for thawing. I was so pleased with the flavor! My husband gave it two thumbs up! I am almost 60 now, and when i took a bite of that sauce yesterday, it instantly took me back to when I was 5/6 years old at the babysitters house - such a very familiar and comforting flavor! thank you! Oh and regards to the person saying you threw half the apple away - do you make your own Apple Cider Vinegar from your cores and peelings? Smiles!

I used one each of 10 apples, put each thru the peeler/corer/slicer, then into my 3-quart Instant Pot along with a half cup of water and 2 cinnamon sticks. Five minutes under pressure, slow release and it was done. Removed the cinnamon sticks then used a manual potato masher to get the consistency that I wanted. No added sugar!
Tried the recipe, it was great! Thank you and God bless you and your lovely family.
That tip goes for everything you make with apples. The difference in an Apple Pie when you use multiple different kinds of Apples really is amazing.

Nuh uh (jk) Yes it does indeed! I grow several old heirloom apples-Ashmead’s Kernel, Esopus Spitzenber, Northern Spy, and Yellow Transparent and mixing the first three varieties in with the main YT-base, really gives the sauce a much fuller, unique flavor that you don’t get with ONLY using the yellow transparent. (Which are really only good for sauce!) 🫡❤️👍🏼

My dad bought like so many apples and idk what to do with them so I decided to make apple sauce thx 😁😁
Literally just woke up and wanted to make apple sauce thank you pretty lady
I like to keep some unsweetened and make rork tenderloin with apple sauce, rest I sweeten, half I add lots cinnamon... I use a tool to get core out so I get a lot more apple. Tyvm. Been long time since saw this but was on homescreen lol
i also threw in some ginger juice, mmmm yum
Sometimes i make a bowl just for snack, here is my sugar free recipe(with little chucks) for 1 medium bowl: dice twp little or one very big apple, wash it, and pour it into a pan like she uses, but the smaller. Pour in a splash of water, and a big pinch of cinnamon. Bring the fire on high, and wait until it cooks. when it cooks you gotta check if you poured in enough water, if you did, there is still water in the pan, of you didn't, the apples all ate the water.. you can just add some more water, and then cook it on low fire, with lid. I don't know how long it needs to simmer, but mostly until soft, then pick a mixer, or anything to just make puree of it, and then you are done! (Tip:always make sure if you want chucks to dice the apple just in squares, not from the little, just a medium square) ❣️🎂
Pure nostalgia
😳 there a lot of apple left on those there cores!

In the video it says that you should add 1 cup of water. However, in the description it says that you should add 1/2 cup of water. Which one is it?
I'm not a big applesauce person but I had a bunch of apples down in the basement and I thought I should do something with them before I had to throw them away. This is the best applesauce I've ever eaten and I made it from scratch! I did put the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon in...OH, MY GOSH! I was going to freeze it but I don't know if it's going to make it to the freezer. Thank you.
👍
I love how she used brown sugar instead of white sugar. Brown sugar is better for you and tastes better. 🙂

Brown sugar is the same as white sugar it just as molasses in it to make it darker. Neither white or brown sugar are healthy for you.
Been having an upset stomach, I suspect it's diarrhea... So I'm trying the BRAT diet. Thanks for this! : )
"...and I'm left with..." me: most of the apple? "...the core, which I discard."

I don't peel my apples. I core and course cut them. I put them in my Bullet machine with some water. I grind them until smooth. Put in a pot along with some cinnamon and bring to a boil. Let cool. Freeze!
What does ne do soth applesauce?
I want to use my apples from my only have a delicious but they aren't ripened had to pick most of the apples before the parrots ate all of the apples. Can I use apples that are not ripe yet Iam stewing them anyway having them for breakfast .
can we just process all the cored apples into a food processor before cooking?
Would I still be able to do this with frozen apples? I was given a huge box of apples, and I didn't want them to go to waste, so I cored, cleaned, and froze them.
