@@hydraazen few things to ensure: 1) you must be connected to the internet for the server to work. 2) make sure you paste in the correct IP in the server.properties file where it says server-ip: 3) make sure when you connect that you're signed into your microsoft/mojang account Hope that helps!

Great Video! It has been the first tutorial that has actually worked for me! But would it be possible to transfer a 1.16.5 world into the new update? I know that the world generation would stay the same in the loaded chunks, but I want it to be like a normal single player world, in which it updates the new chunks with the new update. Would all that be possible? Could I just move the world folders into the 1.17 server folder?

If you plan on creating a custom IP, I suggest using FreeDNS. They allow you to set up a custom domain name entirely (for free), and everything is managed on their side. Hope that helps!

Hey man! I would say contact your ISP. Trust when I say these guys are very helpful and will have no problem guiding you through the process. Just say you want to set up a server and need to enable "port mapping". They'll know exactly what you mean :) Hope that helps

Hey! Yes it's absolutely possible, however it'll be a different process. I focus primarily on the Java edition of Minecraft. If I get more requests in future to make a bedrock version of this video I will happily consider making that viddeo. For now, though, I've got a few other projects in the pipeline and won't be able to. Sorry man!

I've combed through the video and am pretty sure there's no leak :) You see the last 3 digits, but not the whole thing. As for your default gateway and IPv4 address, those IP's are link-local addresses and are not your public IP address. That said... if you've noticed anything, I appreciate if you let me know. However, I'm certain nothing was shown. :p Was a scary video to publish I will say, gotta be careful xD

The idea of making an smp just popped into my head a few minutes ago

I have tried running paper.jar several times and the other files, all except the eula.txt file appeared almost instantly the first time, but the eual.txt still isn't there. I am wondering if this is because i have already agreed to it before, when I tried (and failed) to use other tutorials to start a server?

Hello, My friends still cant join.I did port forwarding and created the rules from the firewall + closed my firewall while running it.I created a server before and worked but it got deleted.I changed the port because it might be stuck for the 25565 port i change it to 15575 but still nothing is working.Whenever My friend tries to join the server it says no further connection which means the server inside my network is open but for them its closed.Please help me I have been trying to fix this for over a WEEK.

Can anyone help? I have the server up and running. I can join onto it. I set up the portforward and the port is open. But for some reason my friends cannot join on it. It just says "cannot connect"

OMG thank you so much! After spending endless amounts of hours looking up complicated websites with confusing instructions, I finally find a clear and concise guide. However, when using the server properties, I wanted to change the difficulty from easy to hard by typing "hard" and replacing "easy." But when I went back on to the game it still said easy. Then to test out if I could change anything else, I changed the monster spawn from true to false, then saw that monsters were still in the game. Is there something I am doing wrong here?

Make sure you're turning the server off, change the settings, and then turning it on afterwards :)
