What is Paracord?
"Parachute cord (also paracord or 550 cord when referring to type-III paracord) is a lightweight nylon kernmantle rope originally used in the suspension lines of parachutes. This cord is useful for many other tasks and is now used as a general purpose utility cord by both military personnel and civilians.
The yarns of the core (commonly referred to as "the guts") can also be removed when finer string is needed, for instance as sewing thread to repair gear, or to be used as fishing line in a survival situation. The nylon sheath is often used alone, the yarn in the core removed, when a thinner or less elastic cord is needed such as when used as a boot lace. Ends of the cord are almost always melted and crimped to prevent fraying.
In addition to purely utility functions, paracord can be used to fashion knotted or braided bracelets, lanyards, belts, and other decorative items. These are sometimes tied in a fashion that can easily be unraveled for use in a survival situation. Some companies use paracord in conjunction with other survival components to create everyday wearable survival kits.
Hikers and outdoor sports enthusiasts sometimes use "survival bracelets" made of several feet of paracord which is woven into a compact and wearable form. Such bracelets are meant to be unraveled when one needs rope for whatever purpose - securing cargo, lashing together poles, fixing broken straps or belts, or assisting with water rescues. Young survivalists (boy scouts) are also taught the importance of using the paracord as a survival tool.On the other hand, the paracord is a poor choice for an emergency tourniquet as its small diameter will crush tissue without applying the needed pressure to stop bleeding.
Additional uses for parachute cord are in the manufacture of items such as lanyards, belts, dog leashes, rosaries, and key chains. This is becoming more popular as crafters are discovering this material."

I keep backing the video up to see. It looks like the jig is set at 9 inches. I'm not positive if tats the final length, though. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was wondering!
Thanks for the great videos! How did you join the white and black cords? Looks like you removed the core for a short distance from the black cord and then inserted the white one and maybe sewed them together?

Wish all videos was like this one. Easy to follow. Excellent.
Beautiful work i agree, but my question is it looks a lot like a dragons claw braid on a 4 strand bracelet please explain how these are similar and why would I need 6 strands to accomplish this and could it be done with 4 strands
@williamfischbach4025

My guess is that using 6 strands gives it a but more bulk. I haven't DONE it with 4, but i don't see any reason it couldn't be done that way...
Your videos are very easy to follow. I have made several dog collars!! wish I could find a nice way to make the leash handle but they all seem bulky and not too attractive. (I use the ladder weave) any suggestions?

You need a wrap / weave that's round.. Something like the snake knot/weave, or cyclone wrap.
hello, friend as name of the string you are using? thank you.

+Rodrigo Gonçalves paracord or parachute cord...
Good evening, When you say add 2-2.25" is this in addition to wrist size because of the additional thickness of this bracelet? Like 7.5 becomes 9.75? Thank you for the video.

Yes, you are correct in your assumption. 7.5 + 2 = 9.5" total length

I have been making quite a few paracord bracelets, but they are not selling, I love them, but either the men don't see them or they don't like them, ladies and girls think they are too heavy, has anyone any suggestions -please? I love using paracord, it is highly satisfying to work with. Maybe its just because I am in the wrong country! ( Ireland)

I have been making dog collars with mine. They are beautiful and you get to make a bigger piece. Not sure they would sell better but women like to buy accessories for their dogs and cats.
I hope I don't sound too dumb; but this is a six strand core, right? That is the thickest I've attempted so far. "I'm going to need a bigger buckle" lol

Rather than working to pull the joint through, I push the loop through from the bottom. Depending on how you join the two colors, you could have trouble and break your joint doing it the way demonstrated...
haciendo..
Where do you get the wooden frame you use to make the bracelets on?

it's called a Jig. You can buy it at Boredparacord.com, paracordgalaxy.com etc...
Great design...but this video does not show the thickness of this bracelet...it is very thick and I cannot wear it but it looks cool though...8 ft of cord usually makes a normal bracelet, I measured out the 2 -8 footers, but it actually make a 6 inch bracelet...
It would be nice to show to finish it off instead of just showing the underside of the bracelet
cool
