This is great. I have a diamond select IceMan statue, and being clumsy as I am I broke all of his fingers off. Granted It is an extremely fragile piece. But after reviewing this I believe I can salvage it and make him a displayable piece once again. Thank you for this content, it’s a great idea for effects or in my case a necessary fix.

I'm brazilian and it's the first time I watch a video about how to do effects for action figures. My english level is not good and I'm in the beginning of this video, but loving your voice and the way you explain everything. I’ve had requests for other ice related effects including: 1. Ice Slide: I really want one of these myself, and I’ve been working on a design. If it works and looks halfway decent, I’ll be sure to share. 2. Ice Weapons: I’ve had a couple of requests for weapons Iceman has created out of ice, but I’m having trouble tracking down comic panels showing Iceman using weapons to help me as reference art, so if this is something you’d like to see, I'll need links or specific comic info so I can look up the artwork.

Zubbie I would say that if you need inspiration for ice weapons I would check out the young justice cartoon or any other superhero cartoon show with an ice-man type character since they can sometimes get creative with those powers

Taha Shujaat That's an idea, but I'd rather find some comic artwork to start from. You would not believe the rants I had to deal with from people on my Ghost Rider Chain video about how I "obviously" don't read comics and how Johnny Blaze doesn't use a chain even though that video has several panels I pulled directly from comics showing modern Johnny swinging a chain around. A few people were nice about their opinions, but some were so mean I just deleted them before I finished reading. So I want to minimize the chance of having to deal with that again by finding some Marvel comics ice weapon source material to start with.

i would really like to put some ice looking effects on my action figure weapons like swords and axes

I find it funny that Hasbro gives us accessories for characters who don't need it like the Abomination wave Cap with the shield throwing effect. While they don't give us effect accessories for characters who do need it. Hasbro's doing a great job with their figures for effect accessories. But if they don't have any for characters who need them, I can always count on you Zub!

Agreed. I really don't get the logic of how Hasbro decides who comes with accessories. Iceman and especially Blizzard are pretty bare bones figures.

im using this for a Sub-Zero figure that doesn't have any ice effects. thanks for the help!

i havent seen the video but i cant wait to see it! and i saw your tutorials on how to make the posable cape, bow, arrow and quiver, and they are just awesome! i am going to put a link to your channel on my next stop motion! because i you have lots of potencial! ahah 😂 by the way i know that i've already asked you this...but please can you make a tutorial on how to make various spider man web effects? all posable with a wire to support all them in shape? like if he was grabbing some villan and the web is rapped around the bad guy body. you know? i would realy appreciat it keep the good work! :D

I'm not sure if you've seen it, but my second Christmas video with Spider-Man 2099 also has a web line garland that I've used before to wrap around action figures before. I'll let you in on a secret. It takes me multiple attempts to get my crafts to look halfway decent, so don't give up and keep trying and it will get easier. :-)

Maybe give your Ice-Man a matte white dry brush effect, so it kinda looks like frost and less like he's a blue Ice Pop

I've definitely stapled my finger. And I've even been shot with a staple gun. Ahhh, childhood. Also I think Iceman was always omega level, but no one really knew that until Emma Frost stole his body or whatever for a stint in the 90s and showed everyone how insane his powers could get. I don't think he always had great control over them. The effect turned out great, and your jokes just keep getting better. V. enjoyable video.

Thanks for sharing the Iceman info! Staple gun? Now that would hurt! You have no idea how relieved I am to hear I'm not the only one who stapled my finger as a kid. I wanted a stapler of my own so bad, and when I finally got it, I hurt myself. haha

haha! I definitely did it as a kid a fair bit. even stapling my paper bag lunch. I definitely did it at an office job I had a few years ago, too. I was rightfully laughed at by all of my colleagues in the marketing department.

What about something like an ice axe or a big fist. Something similar to a Sandman effect ?

I'm really glad we got a more clear iceman in Marvel Legends; now we don't have to paint these blue!

I have stapled my finger. Also I find that a good ice blast for the marvel legends Iceman is to take a base from a young justice aqualad figure that has water spewing out from a tank so I cut the tank part of it off so now I have a pretty decent looking ice blast.

This would work well for shocker as well you could call it an air affect.

Awesome! When you open the Silk figure, could you do maybe some finger web effects since she doesn't shoot webs from her wrist and sadly she only has 1 open hand. But she's still a good figure. Just a lil heads up YT buddy! :D

Possible names for this effect: Cone of Cold(d&d attack), Freeze Flare, Freeze Flash, Ice Burst, and Shotgun Ice (from megaman x)

The music is so tragic! I once stapled both my thumbs together trying to close stapler after refilling the staples.

Ice beam! Like in MvC2.

Iceman is an energy manipulator. So he absorbs energy outside his body to then freeze his immediate environment. So he leaves the energy level alone for his insides...thus concludes my awkward heresay science lesson about fictional characters.
