Good basic knowledge/beginner level intro. The 7th, 5th and 3rd's of your scale are also very important here. If you start at the 5th note and go down to the root (or vice versa), or maybe start on the 3rd and go down to the 5th below your root/basenote it usually gets interesting (unless your rhythm is absolutely awful xD) Also switching up the rhythm is pretty cool. The "call" and "response" method where the first notes are e.g. quite slow and followed by a faster rhythm can also give you a great result. Lots of ways of doing this 😜 It's 90 % rhythm and 10 % pitch.

Good tips right there! Sure, there are dozens of ways to make a melody but with this one I'm refering specially to Martin Garrix' progressive house melodies.

Payback by Steve Angello x Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman is by far the best progressive house song ever. The melody is just outstanding. So powerful, dark, mysterious, emotional..

I understand this man thnx!! when you start finding the right notes for a really good melody that is where you see why Martin became this populair, it is really hard coming up with a really strong melody. I am never pleased with my result hahaha.. it has to be a perfect melody or else i can not work on the project😂

strong rhythm + strong patterns. pitch becomes necessary when vocals are present & you want them or the audience to be able to easily sing or remember the idea (layering the melody & vocals "double" the memorability of the idea) patterns, whether rhythmic or pitch-wise, are used to "anchor" an idea, which can then be used to "a/b" against contrasting ideas. they also provide a "familiarity" to the piece, which is comforting to hear as a listener & firmly roots the idea of the song with them. leaps in pitch should usually be used with caution & intent, such as to hit certain character tones or high notes. constantly leaping up or down is very unnatural, like taking giant leaps when walking lol
