With all that’s happening in the world right now 🌎 I hope you can still find some time to enjoy your crafts.. I won’t comment too much on the situation as I know there are varying degrees of affect that it has, and will have on each of us. I know for some it may be a very sensitive and very difficult time. All I want to say is stay safe, be kind and take care of eachother ♥️ I hope you enjoy today’s video! 🌼

Great idea! Sanding the glossy covers of the books will help the adhesive grab onto it and make a stronger hold! Sometimes it’s hard to remember all of the different techniques! Especially being a newbie like me! I guess the more you do the more you learn! Thanks now I need to pick up a sanding block or at least find some sheets of sandpaper in the garage!

I used to do that with my math exercise books! Well, not as detailed and neat as yours, but I used to stick the covers of the books together with tape (a bit like your taping step, but I wrapped the whole length of the cover). Every time I filled a book, I would just stick it to the back of the (math journal? Lol). At the end of every school year, I would have this massive tome of hand written maths problems and equations and I would be very proud of it. It is just so satisfying to use massive tomes for guideline or reference

Johanna , one week ago I became interested in your channel because making journals by using scrap material inspired me alot. Because I have a lot of old beautiful pages ,covers and wedding invitations ( in india alot of money is spent on weddings and even on the wedding invitations . They are so extravagant). I learned to sew sheets by your tutorial and I have started making my first journal. Every day , I watch some of your vedios to get more ideas from your vedios. Indian wedding invitations are boxes , cards ,sweets etc. And many other gifts can also come along.. I love to collect these pretty boxes and cards because they are made of great paper and cardboard quality and are so beautiful. But people usually throw them away because after all they are just invitations to someone's wedding.. 😕 Lots of love from India and I just love your way of explanations, ideas and work 💜

This would be a good way for them to physically do there budget and see what's going where. What they have to do,what due when and write out there thoughts without holding them in. If religious they can write down stuff for them to focus on. Especially since each section can be for one specific topic. Or something for children to do for school

Hi, Johanna. I am a book and paper person, and I love pens and ink and all things to do with writing,. Since so many of the people I know do emails exclusively, I feel like my life has turned into an episode of Fahrenheit 451. I am so glad to see that there are people who value the written word enough to build themselves a Journal/notebook/whatever to write in. I enjoyed the project and the video made it very clear and understandable. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

I am seeing this for the first time in 2022. I just want to say thank you for taking time to share this demonstration. I just recently started learning how to make stitched junk journals, and I am glad you posted a no-stitch version, too. I really like your videos. They are informative, entertaining and relaxing. Thank you for being an inspiration. I look forward to seeing more posts by you in the future. Keep making and creating. Sincerely, K.

My kids high school teachers have been teaching their students to glue their notebooks together....so they'll have them all together for note taking for the year... The teachers are onto something awesome... I never thought to cover those big chunky notebooks to make them look better... Thanks for the tutorial 💜

Thank you for this video. I really like the idea of doing a journal with composition books. I will do one for my son. He was told by his therapist to keep a journal. Personalizing one would make it more fun. Have a terrific week.

I always admired the picture of the finished book when I was looking for DIY journal and finally took a look - well done! It is absolutely lovely. How is it holding up to usage? Anything that would make you design it differently next time?

Lovely tutorial! I love how "yummy" the journal looks! LOL. I suggest a light sanding of the covers would allow for better adhesion.Thank you so much! I want to try this!

This is going in my “research” playlist ... this is amazing and so easy and I just have to do a few different to make it the way I want ... like with sewing a lot least than making it from scratch and then use leather for the cover 🤩 I’m so excited to try

How do these journals hold up after using them for a long time? I’m concerned about the glue & tape holding everything together. This is a great idea so much easier and less time than others I’ve seen. Good job. Thanks for sharing.
