I didn’t realize how gigantic a Queen Messor Barbarus was. She looked so confused, when she saw an 8mm ID pvc tubing pathway 🤣 I’ll have to get a custom outworld with larger OD mm doors 🚪 🤷

5:03 there is a tiny white bug moving. Not sure the bug is in the test tube or in the red cover box. If in the test tube, you may want to check whether it is harmful :)

Wow great spot! Also thank you so much for letting me know! About a week after this video I cleaned out the tank and did find 2 little unwelcome guests.

How were your green headed ants not dying without a water source? Or what did you give them moisture with? Edit: The outworld setup is cool

Hi! The test tube on the side has a water reservoir built which I've blocked off using a piece of cotton

Which one is better a screw on test tube lid or a cottonball lid

Probably a screw on test tube lid as long it lets air through but the ants get out. Cotton works fine but some species can chew through it.

Great Question! I have to agree with Universal Ants, I use cotton because it's quicker, cheaper and if you don't put the cotton in too tight, it breathes through the cotton. That being said, for bigger more aggressive genus' of ant, I'd look into a screw on lid with air holes for extra security.

What is their drinkable water source??
