My 16 year old daughter is starting to get on board with natural products we can make at home. It is so much fun to see her dive in and use her creativity, and bless our family along the way! Thanks for your willingness to share your knowledge with us and may God bless and keep you!!

Omy gosh!!! Thank you so much I went and made me some with tap hot water sugar and rum and I still wear my hair like the 80s with some volume on top I was out of hair spray and the heat also of the hair dryer really worked awesome and it’s actually holding good thanks 😊
About 50 yrs ago I was told I was allergic to the hairsprays out there. I was told to use beer that had sat out for a few hours. The older it got the stiffer the hold, however, over the years I found out that beer has micotoxins in it so I quit using it. I used to also put a little sugar in the beer. This looks like a much better recipe. I do want to tell you that my head didn't feel foggy anymore. I love the clear thinking it gave me. The same person told me I needed to quit using the shampoo. He told me to use Dove Bar Soap. I did that for years. Now I use what I make or Dr. Bronners Soap, and onion skin hair rinse or vinegar.
I'm so glad to find this organic, natural channel of how tos. I adore that you come as yourself w no pretense making incredibly helpful how tos. Thank u for being here.
How cool!!!! I didn't know this was even possible. Thank you Heidi ❤😇
BEAUTIFUL, THANK YOU AND AMEN
Wow, never thought of it! I will try, thanks for sharing:)
Wellness Mama was one of the first resources I found when I started my diy journey. Plan to try the hairspray when my current supply runs out.
Finally have used down my purchased hairspray and tried this over the last few months. It is amazing! Thank you for all your ideas and time Heidi!!
Heidi, I am going to give this a try, I don't use hair spray that much either. Thank you Heidi, for another educational video
I’ve been making for a good while - from Wellness Mama too! I haven’t used a preservative and haven’t had any problems but I do start with distilled water.
Definitely going to try this! Been behind on videos but trying to catch up
I never knew! Thanks again!
Oh I am so making this for my girls for Christmas 😄. Thank you for sharing and looking forward to seeing the mascara video. Thank you so much for sharing! God bless y’all❤️
Wonderful Thanks for sharing Mrs Hedi💜🌸My tween will love this
Good morning beautiful lady! I am definitely going to make this.! Learning from Mississippi
THIS WAS AWESOME! THANKS A---GAIN, DEAR! Lots of blessings your way....Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN :)

Very timely info for me! I am nearing the bottom of a bottle of hair spray and was just thinking that surely there must be a way to make it myself. I think I will hang onto the empty spray bottle and reuse it with your recipe. Thank you for all the scent ideas, too! ~Michele
Mrs. Heidi! You are such a wonderful resource! I wish I lived closer to you so that I could glean even more of your awesome knowledge! God bless you and your family!

What a fun thing to try for hair. I'm a NOW Foods EO person too. I have used the expensive MLM brands and I keep going back to NOW. Plant therapy really is good also.
That was interesting, I never knew about making your own hair spray! Looking forward to the beauty tips. One thing, I had an allergic reaction to tea tree oil, had raised red itchy spots on my skin. Just so you know it can be bad for sensitive skin. 🌱
Fantastic information. As a kid we had oranges around the holidays and my mother showed us how to put whole cloves into the oranges and that is a scent I adore. Thank you Heidi. This was great. My grandaughter is all about recipes and now shes been wanting to use my hairspray now we can make it together. I love this. God Bless

I had forgotten about the cloves in the oranges, I remember doing that too!
My favorite scent for hair is a blend of citrus, vanilla, and coconut. The inspiration is Jessicurl's Island Fantasy scent. I get compliments all the time when I wear that scent combination. I don't use anything for hold but would like to reduce the slight frizz in my waves. II think I will try aloe vera gel which I heart about from Annie Ever After back when her channel name was Annie's Simple Life. She said it helps with the frizz and leaves hair soft. I need to remember to get some. It's looks so much worse if I brush it out when it's dry. It looks best when wet styled or if I've been out in the rain without my head covered.
Thanks can't wait to try ,have to get some coildel silver 😊

I am definitely trying this out! I hate the smell of regular hairspray.
Brilliant thank you
This recipe is GOLDEN 🎉
Hey there! Thanks a ton for the recipe! I noticed several comments on here about colloidal silver. I have a nano silver made in balanced ph water. It’s the best form I’ve found and trust. Especially after learning about the silver staying in the body if not processed right. Not sure if it’s against the policy here on utube to share links in comments. Stay safe friends!

I do quite a few DIY's; but it never occurred to me that hair spray could be made. Cool ! I can't do lavender. I get a headache as soon as I smell it !

I use salt instead of sugar but it's more of a styling spray not really a set and hold type of hairspray and I never need a preservative but some kind of scent is always nice.

Hey, I'm interested in a simple salt hairspray. How much salt do you use per water?
Never thought to do this. Great info to tuck away. I havent used hairspray in probably 10 years. In the early 90's though it was game on. Wonder how this would havee held up to that hairstyle.😂🤣🤗

During the New Wave and Punk hair style era, it was common for many of them to use sugar water to keep the mohawks standing straight up
What a great idea. Would glycerin be ok for preserving? I have some left over from soap making.
@RainCountryHomestead
4 жыл бұрын
I do not think glycerin would preserve it near as long as the alcohol or colloidal silver/copper. Good question though!
How much water you use?
Hi. What is the brand of Organic Blonde Sugar you are using in this recipe? Your vids are a lot of fun and full of awesome tips! Thank you!

I get the Kirkland brand from Costco, they have the best price
This recipe sounds good, but I wouldn’t say most people have colidal silver or copper in their pantries! I, myself never heard of it. I’m new here and interested in seeing what you have to offer. 👍🏻

I am sure most people don't that is why I also mentioned the rum or vodka, this is more common or easier to get. I always try to give options :)
Thank you for making this video. Excited to try this… Have you ever had an issue with this attracting ants? Also, will this shed sugar crystals onto the pillow when sleeping? Thanks again!
@RainCountryHomestead

Never had issue with either
Does this make a extra hold hairspray or is it a light hold...??
@RainCountryHomestead
4 жыл бұрын
As stated in the video, you can tailor it to suit your hold needs, more sugar equals more hold.
Thank you for sharing!! I have heard that witch hazel can preserve your homemade products.. is that true?
@RainCountryHomestead

I have not heard that myself nor was I able to find any information on it. Anything I saw using witch hazel still required alcohol for a preservative

Since it dos have a small amount of sugar, do you have any problems with it attracting bees and bugs when outside?
@RainCountryHomestead
4 жыл бұрын
I have never had issues but then again, I do not wear it daily. I doubt it would be any different than wearing certain essential oils or perfumes or even the homemade skin cream and that I DO wear every day
Hi Heidi! Does the sugar make it sticky on use? Whats the purpose of sugar, and can i add magnesium oil in it as well? Thanks so much! xx
@RainCountryHomestead
3 жыл бұрын
The sugar is what gives it is hold so it is sticky in the same way that any other hair spray would be. I suppose you could add some of that oil if you want but remember this is a hair spray for hold, not to be confused with a leave in conditioning treatment

Where do you get coadel silver or copper?
@RainCountryHomestead
4 жыл бұрын
I make our own, we have a couple of videos on how to make the silver and the generator. We also sell the simple colloidal silver generator on our store
Do you sell the silver or copper all ready made? I may start making it at some point, but I have other priorities that I'm working on now.
@RainCountryHomestead

I only sell the finishes colloidal silver to locals as it would be pretty expensive to ship

i have a skin condition known as granuloma annulare. i have seen doctors and dermatology doctors. thousands of us have this. told there is no cure. kind of looks like ring worm but it is not. had a biopsy. will Bentonite clay improve my condition or cure it ? desperate for any help you can give me.
@RainCountryHomestead
Жыл бұрын
I really cannot say for certain as I am neither or doctor nor do I know anything about that or what could work but it certainly would not hurt to try it or any other natural and safe things such as coconut oil, plantain, comfrey, or yarrow. The herbs can be applied in the form of a poultice or infused in an oil and applied that way
Would this work on my wimpy , fine hair?

Can I use distilled water?

How about using my hot curling iron on my hair because there’s alcohol in it? Is that dangerous? I only wash my hair 2x a week but if my curls come out, I touch up with a curling iron.
@RainCountryHomestead
Ай бұрын
I am sure it will be fine, maybe a bit harsh on the hair as all heating elements can be but in teh 80's, it was common for girls to use high amounts of high alcohol hair spray with curling irons and hair dryers

No, grey hair is grey hair. It is a natural part of aging and according to the Bible it is something to be honored, not ashamed of
Doesn't this draw flies?
@RainCountryHomestead

Never had any issue but then again I do not use it much. However, I would think certain essential oils such as rosemary, tea tree, clove, or lemon would help prevent this
@johnnyjohn101

I only tried it with sugar and water and yes it attracts a lot of flies... I wonder if adding the alochol will repel the flies?
