How to Make a Wrapped Bouquet for Sale

Ойын-сауық

I make wrapped bouquets every week for sale in my shop on the weekends. They are always big sellers. The most efficient way to build bouquets for sale is to select and prepare the stems for arranging. That means picking out a variety of focal, line and filler flowers for the bouquet and cleaning the stems of any unwanted leaves. Next I use an angle and turn technique to build the bouquet. Finally I wrap the flowers in craft paper and the bouquet is ready to sell.

    Oh my goodness! I will be doing this same project later this morning! I volunteer for a local non-profit to make bouquets from donated flowers to take to area nursing homes. Your tips will make me much more efficient at putting together attractive bouquets. Do you add greenery to the selection of stems? What is a good, finished stem length for these so they sit comfortably in a bucket to transport? Thank you, Ellen!

    That's so great that you do that!! Great questions too! If we have foliage I will add it. For wrapped bouquets I try to make them a little more flower forward so they look nice and colorful in the bucket for sales. For stem length, I use standard black florist buckets so I always want the bouquets to be a bit taller than the bucket- so maybe about 14 inches. This also gives people the option of keeping them that length or cutting them a bit shorter. If you needed them to be shorter (because the stems you have are shorter), you could use shorter buckets.

    @@ellenfrostflowers thank you! I think I will check the height of the buckets and leave the stems a bit longer to give folks some options. Thanks!

    Last summer I was trying to practice the spiral technique with my wrapped bouquets, but having a really hard time getting the hang of it. I've watched so many videos, but yours is very clear and easy to follow. This coming season I'm going to practice while following along with this video. My flowers are often packed together too tight and I'd like the bouquet to have a looser, more open look. Thanks!

    You can do it! one way to have a looser look is to hold the flowers lower down on the stems so that they splay out more. Also be sure to be varying the placement of the flowers and foliage so that they are at different heights. Keep me posted on your progress! I'm excited to see the outcome!

    One way is to design it in a vase and then pull it out and rubber band it. You wouldn't have to be holding it the whole time. Try a vase shaped like a pyramid so that you can get a wide, splayed bottom like you would if you were doing the spiral in your hand. If you try it, let me know how it works!

    Beautiful! If you put wrapped bouquets in a bucket, how do you keep the bottom of the craft paper from getting wet? I supposed you're just careful that the water level is just below it?

  • @ellenfrostflowers

    @ellenfrostflowers

    6 ай бұрын

    YES! this is such a great question. We only put a small amount of water in the bottom of the buckets-maybe a couple of inches. We make sure that all the stems are cut evenly to ensure that every stem in in water.

    Hi! I think we got the holder from Uline. It cost about $40. The paper is 18" 40lb Kraft Paper Roll from a local place called B and G Paper company in Pennsylvania.
