    Watched a number of your videos 7 years ago when I nervously built my first desktop with Win 7. Now I'm ready to rebuild it due to some hardware malfunction causing a shutdown and reboot loop. I will be upgrading to to Win10 and you just saved me $140 for a new Win10 license. Many thanks! (Subbed). (wish there was a way to send a small amount to keep this channel going)

    HI Carey. I watch your videos regularly but this one was particularly helpful in confidently letting me replacing my Windows 7 Pro with my (new today) Windows 10 Pro via the 'Upgrade' option on the Windows Media Creation Tool. Took a long time for upgrades and so on but free and painless - Just a few clicks of the mouse. Thank you so much.

    I recently purchased an Asus x570 Strix E Gaming motherboard to pair with my 3900x and it's been great so far. Plenty of features including Bluetooth and WiFi six. There is a cheaper model labeled F instead of E that lacks the WiFi support if it's not required. 👍

    Nice vid, thanks for this. Although published a year ago is still current and helpful. I've done this and everything went smoothly. But might I add that in fact you can use that extra space... Even if you plugin the usb and it doesn't show up, you can simply go to Disk Management (Right-click the bottom-left corner (Start button) on the desktop to open Quick Access Menu, and then choose Disk Management) and assign a drive letter to the usb. I've done this and then made all the files hidden and system (so that I don't delete any important file) and had no problem. Well, not the purpose of this video I know, and it is a good idea to have a unique boot only usb ready at hand, but anyway... Thanks for the video and keep it up.

    Hey Carey, hope all is well and 2020 is mucho prosperous for you brother. I've learned so much from you just by following along. My Audio Production Music PC crashed some time ago and by watching your videos and using a bit of common sense, I was able to diagnose the problem and rebuild the machine. Failed Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Mobo. I found the same Mobo, installed it into the rack case along with the other existing components. I didn't lose any Song Data, Plugin Presets or anything else. Fired it up then set the bios and back to making music! > Thanks for all the knowledge you pass along! After finding your Channel here I scarcely go anywhere else for anything Computer Tech related... It's a 3 Drive System with an i7 Processor running Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit. Now I'm going through and replacing the aging Hard Drives. Then I'll update to Windows 10 Pro though I really like Windows 7 Pro for Audio Production as it never glitched nor gave me a single problem with my Studio One Pro DAW software and all the other software and hardware I use with the machine... Man, I hope Windows 10 works just as well as 7 always has with my Audio Production process... Thanks again and Happy New Year!

    Carey - The best motherboard option for your 3950x build is the Msi x570 ACE, the other boards in the same price range have inferior VRM/VRM heatsinks.

    I have to agree, maybe the ASUS ROG Strix X570-E or ROG Crosshair VII HERO.. Next step is the TR4 boards nearing $1000.

  • @kamachi

    @kamachi

    4 жыл бұрын

    The Strix E Gaming is the board I use and it's absolutely solid paired with my 3900x. The VRMs on any half decent x570 won't be an issue as the vast majority of them have overengineered VRMs for any Zen 2 CPU including the 3950x so "inferior VRMs" is a silly thing to be concerned about in my opinion.

  • @LeWpD

    @LeWpD

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@kamachi Sorry man but this is incorrect, many boards do not have proper VRM heatsinks and get very hot, you can find many resources on youtube where this has been proving through testing. And for such a high powered CPU he certainly wouldn't want the bottom-tier power delivery.

  • @LeWpD

    @LeWpD

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@kamachi I recomend you watch buildzoids x570 VRM analysis video, there are x570 motherboards like the msi pro carbon with huge VRM heat issues due to lack of or improperly designed VRM heatsinks.. Don't spread false information.
