Since the Trifold Shutter Card is designed for 12" card stock, you'll learn how to make it work if you only have 11" card stock. This handmade 3d card is fun to create, and a joy to receive, so don't be limited by the size of your card stock!

Sage - I have avoided tri-fold cards because I was so sure I couldn't do it. You have convinced me otherwise! I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the calm, easy-going and confident tutorial.
Thank you for such great videos! I really appreciate being able to reference this particular one for both sizes of paper. In addition, thank you for the PDF file. I really enjoy watching you show us projects and with such thorough and clear instructions.

Thanks so much for the feedback, Tammy. I'm glad it helped and that you're happy with the results!
I'm so glad you'll give it a try. No step is difficult, there are just a lot of them once you get to decorating them. But you can start simple, and go from there.
Thank you so much for these very clear instructions, I am a new card maker and now I feel confident to make this type of beautiful card !!!!
Thanks so much for this video... so much more easily explained than others I've been watching. And a double thank you for giving instructions for the smaller cardstock - since SU discontinued 12"x12" black cardstock I've been 'in mourning'... now I know how to get round the problem!! 💕

Hi Mihir Naik, You need to use card stock for the base, then decorate it with your delicate papers. Card stock is usually 80 lb. weight.
Thank you so very much for perfect instructions on how to make the 3 fold shutter card. I’m a new card crafter and I was able to make it correct the first time after watching your video. Hey could you plzz tell me what are the names of the articles you used? Like the scoreboard and the trimmer and ruler, etc. Also, do we like get a set of those materials online?
Awesome, thanks for this. Followed along with your vid and plugged the numbers into Design Space and voila!!! My Cricut cuts it, but I must admit, I still get excited at the thought of using my good old scoring board.

That's pretty cool. I don't use any of those electronic gizmos, I seem to have enough trouble keeping up with what I get from Stampin' Up! Perhaps you'll have to make one by hand so you can dust off the scoring board!
@purediva81
8 жыл бұрын
+TheMadStamper You don't need the gizmos, it's obvious you have tried and true skills!! When I first got my Explore, my scoring board went into hibernation, but lately I've been taking it back out for certain cards and large envelopes and let me tell ya, to use that board gives me a certain thrill. There's nothing like getting back to basics. It's so simple, but the projects you can create are amazing!!!

I would like to know how can we do the scoring if we don't have a devise to do so? Thank you for the video it is awesome!
@TheMadStamper
9 жыл бұрын
If you don't have a scoring board or a paper cutter with a scoring blade, then you can just use a stylus or bone folder to score the card stock. It's harder to be precise with the measurements and to get the score lines straight, but it can be done.
Just mind blowing 😊😊😊😊

I don't know what a tri board is. The card base is made from a single sheet of cardstock which is cut and scored as shown in the video.

What are the measurements for decorating each of the panels?
@TheMadStamper
9 жыл бұрын
I like to use 3/16" mats instead of 1/4" mats. See this post to learn why, especially since each panel in the trifold shutter card is so small. stampingmadly.com/?p=3430. What that means is the top layer of each panel is 3/8" smaller in each direction than the base panel, and the mat under it is 3/16" smaller than the base panel. Sorry, I don't have all those measurements written out anywhere.
you should do stapin up
Hi, fab video. Would it be possible to have instructions for it please? x
@TheMadStamper
2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, Elaine. You'll have to figure out how to decorate it yourself. I tend to make technique videos, rather than how to make a specific project. And in addition at this point, I'm recovering from hip replacement surgery.
Thanks!

my cutter is way smaller than yours its width only goes to 4 inches. How do i compensate? Plus i dont have a huge scorer like yours either.
@TheMadStamper
9 жыл бұрын
Perhaps you'll need a larger cutter that also has a scoring blade. This would be easier to problem solve if we could talk on the phone. I'm at 505-266-6240 if you want to give me a call.

+TheMadStamper That'd be terrific! You have at most 6 seconds before a person decides to stay on a website or not. If it's not mobile friendly, you can lose a lot of viewers that way. A lot of blog/DIY websites allow you to preview it as if on mobile. Something to consider in the future!

can you give measurements for a smaller size of paper?
@TheMadStamper
9 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I haven't done smaller ones. This card folds up into the standard 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". Smaller than that may be pretty bulky with all the folds. The video shows how to make it work even for 8-1/2" x 11" card stock, in case you don't have 12" x 12".

I feel it would have been more helpful to do two separate videos because I was doing the card 11x8.5 but your link only provides the cutting measurements for the 12x12. So I've cut along the wrong lines now. It's a.lovely idea but your tutorial is pretty muddled
