Time/headache saving tip: I had a heckuva time using the epoxy. It was curing too quickly and my rivets were coming out stringy and not at all like I'd hoped. I used Ranger's glossy accents, which dries clear and has a needle tip bottle for dispensing. It worked amazingly well, and very quick. It's a fantastic adhesive for dimensional elements as well. You can purchase it at any scrapbook store or at Michaels and it goes a long way.

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check that out. Some people really like the epoxy, but others hate it, so it's good to have options.
Just finished making this, thank you so much for the brilliant video, could not have done it without your inspiration!
FANTASTIC!!!! My 10-year-ild son was so impressed by this, we're going to make one. Many thanks fella :)

Yeah, can you make a steampunk gauntlet it would be fantastic 😊 !
Here's a response to Lou M, Unfortunately I can't respond directly to your question, in order to allow me to respond, go to Google plus settings, open Google account settings, Where it says "who can click on your public posts" change it to "anyone" That would be awesome! As far as sizes, the pattern comes with 9 sizes from 41cm to 63 cm head diameters. I haven't had anyone yet tell me that there wasn't a size that fit them, so you should be alright.

I loved it when he said "you could choose a different color if you wanted it to look silly"
subscribed. I am absolutely in love with how crafty you are. Time to binge watch your channel
Looks better up close where you can see the rivets; from a distance it looks a little messy. This is probably because the hat looks the same on all sides. Perhaps one might pick up a few plastic cogs or other steampunk-style objects, paint them in bronze/gold paint, and affix them to the hat? It would break up the monotony of the hat's appearance, and add some extra flair.
pls gimme de exact name 4 the gold paint in my country i can't buy it
Just bought the pattern. Well worth the money! Looking forward to building it. Thanks for making this available.

Just done with my hat! I'm pretty satisfied I must say. Finished it with 3 different colors of rub'n'buf (Inka Gold) - first with copper, then highlight with some gold and lastly just a few touches of silver on the edges :) Have a picture on my onedrive for those who would like to see -> 1drv.ms/1RMaizd

Great job! It's beautiful! When I make mine, I'll add a fake letter strap, maybe some gears on it or even a small clock!
This looks really awesome i think i might use the pattern to make a top hat for a BloodBorne inspired cosplay :) i really love steampunk and the things you make are so beautiful and creative
Just Found your channel randomly. I love creative makers like you Subbed.
Earned a sub. You added some comedy, yet stayed to the point and made a really good video!

Oh my freaking lord !!! this is absolutely amazing :) I'm in love with this hat O.o
You look really cool with this steampunk Hat.
I made the hat and it worked out great! ^^ I had a little problem searching for a "rub n' buff" equivelant here in Belgium but found something after a while. Its from the brand "Lefranc & Bourgeois": gilding wax. Thnx for posting this video. Hoping to see more of your work in the near future.
Thanks Ken! Rin says Hi to you too.
Love it . Brought your bundle. Thanks heaps
Wow! This is so cool! I really like the way you incorporated the rub n buff to make it look like a dark polished kind of metal. and the rivets made of glue were ingenious! I will definitely attempt something like this in the near future, as I just became interested in steampunk cosplays. Bravo! I would love to see more like this, so I subscribed! :)
Awesome video. Thanks, can't wait for the stores to open tomorrow so I can buy the foam.
Love your Work!
I made one! Looks great! Couldn't find the rub n buff paint here in Sweden but ordinary gold acrylic paint worked.
Awesome, I love the epoxy rivets, such a good idea. great project :D
Thanks for the tutorial Chris! It helped make my first Steampunk prop and it turned out really well!

Thank you for the video. I have been looking for a top hat for a while but none at the stores really fit me how I want. I never even considered making one this way.
Whaaat! You are awesome! Making this for my son for Xmas as he LOVES the steampunk/turn of the century stuff. He pretends he's an airship captain on his bunk bed ALL the time so I think this hat will be PERFECT. Hats off to you! (Such a mom joke)
