@@evansbohl I tried both the toon shader and the outline shaders yesterday and i must say they work great. I managed to get close to the anime style look that i was aiming for. Sure actual anime style has additional requirements to get that exact look (like eyes showing under hair, or Fresnel like rim lighting to get that extra shine on the model), but shaders that manage to get that exact same feel, usually dont have the features your shader provides (like being affected by environmental shadows or additional scene lights) and i must say i prefer these features to the exact anime look. Being affected by environmental lighting is much more important to the atmosphere i am aiming for, thus your shader is perfect for my work. In addition if i manage to get beyond novice level with my skills in shader development at some point, i am pretty sure i will be able to implement those extra features as well (but for now it is a distant dream :D). Thank you for the tutorial and the shader.

After 3 other tutorials on the same topic and half an Unreal live presentation video... THIS is the video that was finally noob-friendly enough to make me understand why all the divides, multiplies and operations. Thank you. I think you are not only a developer, but also an educator. Subscribed.
Love how you present your tutorial videos Evans! the quality is top notch, showing details of even having the added segment of how light and shadow transitioning in a graph definitely sets you apart from other tutorials that just explain it without any visualization.. while you on the other hand showed perfectly how the light step transition size parameter works.

Hello, Evans. Congratulations on the tutorials. I´ve been following them in 5.4 and some parameters have changed. It is no longer possible to follow step by step every part of the tutorial, so I had to improvise, but I don´t really understand the changes i had to do. I am repeating it in 5.0.3 and migrating the shaders to my 5.4 project. I hope it looks as great as yours with this process!! It would be awesome if you updated this guide! Thank you again.
You deserve so much more recognition for your work, I'm learning a LOT from you! Thank you!

This is amazing. I have looked in to toon shaders a bit and while watching this video i often asked questions about certain features that needs to be adressed in a toon shader and as soon as i thought about them you adressed them in the next step. I have not tested your shader yet but i have feeling that it is going to work great.

Thank you so much for the tutorial Evans. I haven't touched the post-processing in unreal since it always confused the heck out of me but I didn't have that issue with your tutorial. Cheers!

Very nice tutorial! Love how you just not explain stuff, but show it in between steps. Refreshing to see tutorials by people who actually understand what they are doing and why. I guess this shader can be extended to have steps in 'gradation'? Like if I want 2 (or 3) tints representing the shadow shadesof the color and 2 tints representing the light shades of colors.

Hello !

Hey Evans! Great tutorial! Do you know if its possible to set other lightsourses do not affect shadows of the main one?
