Nice. But my old woodwork master, Mr Berry, would be shocked to hear you repeatedly saying the word "rabbit": the word is "rebate" (just like when you get a welcome tax rebate for whatever reason.) I wish Mr Berry were still with us... HE would tell you!
Not sure why anyone would dislike this video lol....
with the price of lumber, the box will be worth more then the tools to be stored in it, still it is a beautiful tool box. everyone in shop class was jealous of that lucky kid that inherited his grandfathers H. Gerstner & Sons tool box
You sir, have bragging rights.
Nearly every step, has big expensive tools being used. The reason I want to make my own toolbox, is because I can't afford a nice new one. Could you in the future consider making a video with nothing more than affordable tools like a ruler/tape measure, a hammer, a saw, screwdrivers, a drill and files? I have sandpaper too... Just seems like, for the price of one of those big machines, I could buy a dozen tool boxes. Thank you for the inspiration.
John. I feel like I have to point out that [insert ridiculous statement] and I was offended by [insert silly reason] but I also [if you’re still reading it’s a miracle] feel that regarding safety [armchair judging even though I can’t spell wewd] and finally I’d like to [insert rant about something that has nothing to do with this video]... which was awesome by the way.
John, do you buy your hard woods. Or do you have an unlimited supply of stuff thats always laying around!? LOL
How can I get your plans
Construction adhesive eh? It doesn't mind the cold shop temperatures like water based glues do? I'm guessing you've never had any issues with it if you're still using it on projects. Might have to give it a try in my freezing cold shop!
As I write you have 999K subscribers. Certainly a well deserved million mark. Congratulations in advance.
Always impressed with homemade drawer slides. Looks great!
Ash is such a beautiful wood. Works well with tools and stains great if you need to go that route. Great build, John.
This is great John. Glad to see your table saw cuts are still making the edit!
I'm really impressed as usual John. Especially when I see all your selfmade tools, clamps, tablesaw, router table, cabinets....
Always amazed, not just of the projects themselves, but how detailed your editing and voiceover explain so much in such a short time. That's an heirloom piece for sure.
John, this is one of my favourite things you have made. Your design for the drawer slides is great, and I think adds a ton to the overall asthetic. Kinda like how a dovetail is functional, but looks really cool as well.
Very nice John. So nice to see "shop stuff" built with such attention to detail and esthetics . You were right when you said that if you are going to build it you might as well make it look good. I think that our hobby would attract more people if our shops reflected both esthetic and practical efforts.
Really nice build. I appreciated the line in the build article "If you want to build one for yourself, and you definitely should because you deserve it..."
Watching a build video from John is always time well spent. This is a great looking toolchest and is certainly on my todo list.
