How to make a TIMELINE in Word | MS WORD Tutorials
Learn how to make a simple timeline in Word using a table to keep everything nicely aligned. Fully customise your timeline by using different colours, fonts, border lines, additional graphics and adding more to your timeline by increasing the number of cells you create in your table.

Within all my tutorials I aim to help you develop your skills working within Word, Excel and Powerpoint as well as further your knowledge about the tools which are available within the Microsoft Office Software.
Throughout this channel I aim to cover simple subjects such as page numbers, margins, headers and footers, image, pictures and fonts as well as more advanced themes such as tables, mail merge, table of contents and electronic signatures.
Sharing tips and tricks which I discover along my journey is also an important aspect of this channel. I love the idea of giving people the solution to a problem they’ve been struggling with in Microsoft Word, Excel or Powerpoint.
The channel began all because of a problem I had when I had to insert images into a Word Document. I couldn’t find a way to drag and drop multiple images into a table without them expanding across the page, being cropped or interfering with the rest of the text. It wasn’t until I finally sat down one day, determined to find the solution and developed a way to solve the problem. Having found the problem quite difficult to solve without knowing how to do it I decided to make a You Tube video about it. Never once believing that many people would watch it, let alone be so grateful.
After discovering how helpful a simple tutorial could be I decided to make further videos with the aim of once again helping as many people as possible.

Hi. Thank you for your excellent tutorials. I have learnt (and used) so much. I have recently taken over ‘updating’ our Charity Facebook page and website so wondered if there was a tutorial that covers putting ‘interesting looking’ posts on both? After you have created the time line can you move it around on the page or make it smaller?

Yes, but you would have to use WORD ART for the text, select everything and GROUP it all together and then SAVE AS A PICTURE. You would then need to re-import or re-insert it as a picture (jpeg).

When you type text, is the box is supposed remain original square size, or does it run on until you press enter?

It should remain the same size, but you can right click on the cell and change the cell format.
It was soo heplful! Thank you so much! But i didint understand the last step when we delete all the background columns and rows and keep just the timeline. I mean I have selected the table and then clicked to view gridlines but i didnt have the same result

If u want a time line just go in insert press smart art and click process whichever design u want u can chose😊
When I press lay out, I don’t see height nor width. Can you please help?

Don't click the regular layout, when you select the table another layout will appear and that's the one you have to click on.
I have problems with it stretching down into another page.
I really thought I was the only one. Like I was buggin'.

could this be a little more complex and time consuming? Geesh...why not just download a new table with this timeline prewritten? Noone has figured out how to make downloadable addons?
I use time.graphics for this because its so much easier to use .
