How to Make a Tap Dance Board
This video shows how to make your very own tap dance board so you can dance from home! I recommend trying to apply the polycrylic on a warmer morning/afternoon so it can dry faster. The whole process took me about 1.5 days since you have to wait about 2 hours between each of the 4 coats. If you start earlier in the morning, it could be done in a day! All the work is totally worth it though to be able to practice tap dancing again! I hope this video was helpful! :)
Materials:
- 4.5 feet x 3 feet plywood (I used Oak wood)
- Foam mats
- Utility knife / box cutter
- Gorilla Wood Glue
- Sandpaper
- Polycrylic (clear matte)
- Brushes

Engineering AND dance
Is this light and comfortable to carry around to perfomance venues as a portable dance floor or is it too heavy, big, and inconvenient and only meant for tapping at home?
Bravo. Question. If I do not want loud sound to transfer through the floor, would it help not to leave the gaps in between?
does the polyacrylic make the board slippery at all?
