damn, you got more tools than Norm. You made that look easy, Good Job.
Gee, there’s just no fault to find there. You made it look easy, but you explained it very thoroughly. Best of all, you did it with very common tools. Great job.
$18 seems kind of high to me. But then, I live just minutes from a scrap yard. That is a very nice tool. Just as cool as the one Woodpecker sells.
Man!! Thanks so much for this video! I'm picking up a Craftsman 100 table saw in 2 days, so this tool is top of the list once the restoration is finished. Awesome video, Patrick!
That was really neat to watch, especially getting into the precision work on the RAS. Nice one, Patrick!

Nicely done Patrick, thanks for sharing.
Looks like it can also be used to check the squareness of the fence. Alight the blade to the miter slot, then check the fence against the miter slot. Awsome!
Great video Patrick! I love everything about it, they way you laid it out, the editing, camera shots, information presented, one of my favorites.

Get in line!
Excellent idea, looks great..... my only suggestion would be to use heli-coils or keenserts for the tapped holes. Aluminum is very soft and repeated use of the threads will cause them to weaken over time...

very enjoyable vid pat, and great use of the RAS, inspiring! just an older blade, eh? did you buy the gauge or was it something you had waiting for suitable duty?
@Patricksworkshop
7 жыл бұрын
thanks Mark i picked up the gauge on a sale from Grizzly a while back just for this purpose to align my table saw and fence thanks for watching
You have any tips on finding replacement parts? I need new handles for the raising and lowering knobs, and the fence has some small parts that need to be replaced.
@Patricksworkshop

Check craigslist and Ebay. I see a few pop up every now and then
Don’t buy it ,make it. Cool build mate.
Wow! You made that look fairly simple to built. But the real question, how do you get it anodize red??? Do they really work in a natural color??? :-) I gotta have me one. JimE
@Patricksworkshop
7 жыл бұрын
Thanks I'm not sure how to get it anodized but I like how it feels and looks the aluminum itself is very nice thanks for watching
@riffmeister8440

You could powder coat it red

Nice!! How would you tackle the problem for differnet width/sized miter slots?
@Patricksworkshop
7 жыл бұрын
as far as i know from my vast years on this planet, all table saws have a 3/4 wide miter slot also the dial indicator pushes away from the blade and makes the runner contact the far side anyway so it would work with all sizes thanks for watching
@TheeModerateGamer
7 жыл бұрын
Fair enough. Thanks for the quick reply. Sadly I don't own any saws soI have no real knowledge of tablesaws apart from what I see on KZread.
nice job Patrick. Is that the diablo 24 tooth blade?
@Patricksworkshop
7 жыл бұрын
thanks Mike its a Freud industrial 24 tooth thin kerf ripping blade it was on sale on amazon for 30 bucks i want to get more freud blades when i see them on sale next will be a combo blade thanks for watching
what brand is your DI? I haven't found one with what looks like a flat loop, like it looks like you have on yours. I see them with a loop but then you would need a slot or U mount for them.

the Dial Indicator i have is one from Grizzly with the magnetic base it was on sale when i got it i think around 29 bucks came in a nice red case too www.grizzly.com/products/Magnetic-Base-Dial-Indicator-Combo/G9849?Page&.com here is a link its on sale again for 19.99 what a deal thanks for watching

Ok,rewatched it again and now see how you did it at 1:34 I see you did a rabbet. is the a sketchup file for this? the notched piece is 8.75", how long is the rabbet piece?
nicked off Google. great idea and interpretation.
Were you using the free 30 day trial version of SketchUp or did you purchase it ($695.0)?
Hi Patrick, would you consider making another one and sell it to me ? Thanks .
how much did it cost to build vs buy?
@Patricksworkshop
7 жыл бұрын
hey Brian thanks for watching buddy so for the numbers it was 27 for the aluminum and 1 dollar for the bolts plus a dial indicator but i had one in stock already ,as for buying it new from a company the red one sold on the internet starts at 154 bucks + tax and shipping so and the other one from woodpeckers runs about 75 shipped so all in all i like mine way better thanks for watching i hope this answers your question

Hi Ramon its a 1961 Craftsman 100 model number 113.29991 i just restored it in a video series check it out thanks for watching
@NickFerry

Patrick, you told me it was a fugeeo de stampo 5000!
So you really can just use regular woodworking tools on aluminum?
@Patricksworkshop
7 жыл бұрын
forsure i wouldn't use my good blades on it but thats just me ,but sure why not . i used a old craftsman blade in the video to do all the cuts and today i used that same setup to up cut some poplar trim and it cut clean as ever i really think it depends on what you're making too and how much you try to cut all at once light passes is what i do to make the blade last as well as not messing up the project but most woodworking tools can do aluminum no problem
