you can also make a two closely separated chicken wire as the zapper, just make sure the voltage isn't big enough to make the current arc through the air, only the mosquito body that become the medium of the current

Hello, I really like your channel, very instructive. I need to ask, what wattage of resistors did you use in this circuit.

Pretty neat. I would like to mention a person might want to experiment with UV LEDs and find a way to use dry ice (frozen CO2) with it. Mosquitoes can see UV radiation and use CO2 to find their victims.

Unprotected electrified grid connected to a mains powered voltage multiplier is a kinda bad idea

just crossed my mind that for those who have cats or dogs it would be wise to guard the wires so they can not touch it

It would probably wise to just hang it and connect with a extension wire plug so it would be keep out of reach of childrens and house pet

You forgot to mention that this has absolutely no galvanic isolation, and if you touch it you're likely going to die, even if you don't touch both wires.

ok, 220v with 2stage voltage doubler = about 680v on the capacitors that is made to handle 400v!!! wtf!!!

The Voltage that each capacitor handles is the recrified mains, so approximately 320 volts if l'm not wrong

@@diyelectronics5537 nope, it is double the peak voltage of mains, so yeah more than 600V

Although operating principle is OK, I would discourage it for safety issues. No protection from weather, from short circuits and worst of all from being touched by pets or people. This can kill - (and not only mosquitoes).Good quality insect zappers are not that expensive and have safety features installed.. If one is inclined to experiment, at least safety features should be included.
