I’ve watched you video on spiral pipe stem making a few times and it has really peeked my interest in making my own. I am a beginner and have almost completed my first pipe bowl and need to make a pipe stem. Thanks to your video I have some knowledge on getting started. Thank you!

To be honest with you, you could do it with a used $50 belt sander!
Lay a appropriate size string in the channel after applying glue and prior to clamping halves together. Once clamped you can pull string/cord out cleaning any glue residue out of it.
So Nice Family!!!
Wow, beautiful! Can only imagine how much more time it takes you to make video of your crafting process but I for one truly appreciate & enjoy it. Thank you & your lovely camera person!
That was a great video. I have a son that loves pipes. I will have to try this for him. Thank you so very much

@@PowerTronMan I'm not saying that you will be disrespectful however there are tons of people in the world who smoke pipes everyday who are disrespectful. If you're not sure if something is being disrespectful or not, always best to check with your elders first.

@PowerTronMan in addition to my other comments, I would like to say thank you for considering taking up a noble and old craft. With regards to being respectful, the fact that you said you weren't sure how you wouldn't be is a great start my friend! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. 🙂

You can buy drills of about a metre long, should you want to use it for cleaning out the middle. I wonder if in old times they used to glue a shard of flint to a good long stem to use as a drill, don't need to have the whole length as a drill, much like the flat bits or forstner bits. I prefer using a thinner saw blade and turning the wood around for an accurate centre cut, like the way you did it, using the correct size may put it off centre, or may make the slot too wide.

Yes the native american tribes did at times make and use long flint tipped drills. However a more common method was to bore out a starter hole In a wood like white Ash or basswood that has a tiny hollow center. They would then pour grease down the hole. Then they would get a grub and put it in the hole and seal it up behind the grub. It would eat it's way through the pipe stem creating a perfectly drilled hole.
What if someone is allergic to mint what do you do

Although healthline says that mint allergies are rare, I would recommend not using it if you are allergic to it.
Watched most of the entire episode before I realized we are wearing the same bandanna. Lol.

Hahaha!
you just had to mention the severed finger. ha ha. giving me flashbacks.
I always use hand tools on pipes no power tools only man power
You can use woodprix, it has the best handbooks and ready instructions. You can learn much from them and make it yourself.
