You could start now!! My mother taught me to sew by hand to make doll clothes and years later I learned to sew on a machine. It's very soothing and you unleash your creativity.

Why do you rush and not do accurate sewing lines and match your thread this is a great project i show my student for many years but theirs turns out better because they take their time and they feel great as done a good job

I can’t see the point of making zipper tabs, when they’re taken up in the seam allowance

Were you never told not to cut threads with fabric scissors?

Who cares what she cuts threads with?? It's presumptuous to think everyone has the luxury of owning thread snips or small sewing scissors.

I'm 76 years old. I started sewing when I was a child. I've always cut threads with scissors. And guess what?! The earth is still spinning! The sky has not fallen, either!

@@leannad3898 I care when my good fabric scissors cost me $180.00. It took me more than 20 years to have the luxury of good scissors so I don't cut anything other than fabric with them and my family know if they make so much as one snip with them then I want $180.00 on the spot to replace them. I have loads of all purpose scissors all over the house, many are just 3 packs from the dollar store so there is no excuse for anyone at any time to touch my good ones. I use the cheapies for cutting threads, elastic, pattern paper, anything at all other than fabric. I had the same rule when I could only afford $8.00 fabric scissors because back then $8.00 was more than I could afford for replacements. It all comes down to whether you want to have to continually replace your sewing scissors because they get blunt from cutting things they shouldn't, or can you have a 50 cent pair beside them to avoid that. I think that is all @ Carol Curtis was meaning to say, that's my take on it anyway. Everyone of course is free to use their scissors as they see fit.😊

@@oodles_of_noodles. I honestly don't know what the point of your comment is, other than going on about the luxury of your $180.00 scissors. You apparently missed the point about my comment. Reread the last sentence. Not everything posted on KZread comes from countries with a lot of wealth and many make due with what they have.

@@leannad3898 I understand that. You asked who cares about what scissors people use to cut threads so I offered an explanation of why I care. I only mentioned cost for the point that $8.00 scissors were a luxury item for me for many years and to have them ruined stopped me from being able to sew for months on end because they couldn't cut out fabric hence I found out that a 50 cent pair used in tandem prevented that. I guess it didn't come across the way I meant it. My last line was also that people are free to use their scissors in any way they wish. Happy sewing!! 😊
