I used this method to draft a short and I loved it. For the first time, I can move my legs without fear of my shorts tearing from under. I was skeptical about the back pattern initially tho. Thanks for being such a good teacher.

Thanks for the tutorial. Why is it straight on the outer seam? Aren't we supposed to find the middle point on the crotch line, draw line vertically, and divide leg opening equally using that as reference?

Yes, but you’ll need to add a zipper allowance to the back.

On the back in the video you said you went down by 1 in from the CL but in the video it shows 0.5 in.... which one should I do.

Since your thigh is 33 divided by 2 is 16.5 , the standard crotch depth for this size is 13 , use 13 for your crotch depth

what do I do if my measurements do not give any room for dart or ease? For example my hip divided by 4 =9.5 and Waist divided by 4=9 so there is no room for 1in. dart

I think you’ll need to add some allowances to your hip measurement, so that the pattern would come out nicely and easy to join.

Goodday ma'am. Please, most of the inches you mentioned are not in alignment with what i watch you use. For example: The back part of the short... Where you extended the crotch by 2 inches, came down by half an inch but mentioned 1 inch. It might mislead people who might pay attention but are not watching closely.

It’s not beginners friendly dnt understand it was too complex and most the back pattern
