    Maybe start with 3writing forms, like Japanese, but maybe add like 1 to that. It could be Syllabary Alphabet Abjad logography And it would switch every word But Only the syllabary is per word The alphabet is every 2 The abjad (no diacritics btw >:) ) is every 3 And the logography is every 4 Also they change from one (every *number* ) to the one after that in that order. Hope you like, just my idea for that :p

    Just base it more on English pronunciation than current spelling. Maybe add in etymological factors so that words borrowed from the same source (Greek, Latin, French etc.) are spelt similarly.

    Once I made a sort of cursive cipher that was made of loops and points representing the numbers from 1 to 6 (1 - a point, 2 - two points, 3 - a loop, 4 - a loop and a point, 5 - a point and a loop, 6 - two loops) and alternating up and down, to encode and decode it I would sort of recite the alphabet in my head in six groups like ABCD EFG HIJK LMNOP QRSTUV WXYZ, the up number was the group and the down number was the position in the group, I eventually got better at recalling the groups and positions and even the specific pairings, and put numerals in the blank spots, I liked it because at a glance it looked like regular but slightly weird cursive. I later memorized ETAOIN SHRDLU, and after that a really simplified version of the English sound inventory, and made various ciphers out of those, including a whistled one.

    There was a kid in my high school that would draw these symbols and it became popular quickly. All of the kids and the teachers would try to copy his symbols. One day he moved away and there had been a high schooler who got a symbol tattooed to his arm. Well, the kid moved away and the day he left he sent a code decipher sheet and it revealed dirty words about fornication! The kid had filthy words tattooed to him. It was crazy.

    since i was a kid, i've always been fascinated by the idea of creating my own writing system so people won't know what i write next to my notes during classes. but i was never really commited to create one, as it always seemed to hard for me to come up with perfect symbols that were different enough from the latin letters... so i started learning various existing writing systems. as of now, i know cyrillic, greek, armenian, futhark, katakana, hiragana and hangul. armenian is definitely my favourite: the best both aesthetically and functionally for me. using them for my notes has always worked, cause pretty much nobody i'm close with can actually read them. i think that learning existing systems can actually be better than creating one from scratch because 1. you just have to learn it, saves some effort!!! and 2. it increases your knowledge! and i think that's beautiful. i love it everytime i actually see some cyrillic or katakana on ppl's clothing or on books... it's so satisfying to be able to read them! (yeah I won't be able to understand BUT IDC I CAN READ!!!)

    yeah same! i made a writing system a while ago and a font that i used to make it a lot easier to write actually is now the official and the original is falling out of fashion QUICKLY but so is the new one but i think its gonna be there til 2025~ before it gets fully taken over by the latin alphabet. the reason the latin alphabet is slightly more used is because i dont have unicode for my script and with the amount of computers and phones and tablets, young people learn their vocabulary from yt and tiktok and in latin cause no unicode. its so sad watching the decline of my beautiful indeginous script… 😢😢

They share same characters but are different in shape so I can easily distinguish which part is written in Mother Tongue or Foreign languages. Finally I'm making my conlang and it uses various scripts from Natural languages. For example it can be written in Arabic Devanagari,Tifinagh,Runes etc For that I can learn many writing systems.

    I made a ws when I was 13 to use for notes. I had the feature of not allowing repeating characters, but using "-" to denote repetition. In a way "ii" became "i-" or in reality "|-", so when you saw "||" you knew it was "h" and not "ii". I used it extensively in notes at school. Other ideas I had: - Using math as a ws, so text just looks like math exercises. - A systemetic way of turning unicode into glyphs like it is a 2⁶⁴ letter alphabet. - Something that isn't confined to using the 2 dimensions paper and screens provide. Think of a ws that uses depth to convey meaning as well (maybe it is for 4D aliens or 3D glyphs in VR/AR in the future)

    When I was younger, in about like Year 3/3rd Grade, I made my own language called Crelin. I had formed the name of this writing system from “Crayola” and then the name “Lin”. It would be written with a bunch of straight lines and squiggles and a bunch of squares (squares are my favourite shape till this day.) and I even made a little page in my old notebook dedicated to it! (But obviously my handwriting was trash so no matter how much I’d like to explain it right now, I can’t even read how I used to spell “hello”.) but if you wanted to write my name in Crelin you’d make a little mountain shape and then a few squares and then a tiny squiggle and a few lines around it. I don’t know how I found that notebook but I’m just typing out what I see. Anyways, I might use some Crelin in my new language and update some words. Wish me luck :)

    I’m developing mind to prioritize speed and space efficiency. It looks much like cursive and every letter in a word is connected. This means that the space between words can be super minimal since it’s obvious which letter are connected and which are not. Any other ideas for reaching my two goals?

  • @ammaralmarzooq5764

    @ammaralmarzooq5764

    4 жыл бұрын

    Kenneth Carazo Hello Ken, that sounds nice! As for speed, do you mean fast for reading or fast for writing? As for space efficiency, I made a WS based primarily on that. One nice way to achieve this is to look for common trends in English writing (assuming it’s an English writing system), things like double letters, (sh), (th) or even longer sequences like (-ing) or (-tion). You can shorten these by creating a special character that replaces them. This can save a lot if it’s you’re going for. I would love to see it when it’s done!

    User 999a ah yes I already made many singular symbols that represent multiple letters. It’s a real cool idea but hard to memorize. I’m still polishing it but I’ll upload a pic on my channel. It’s pretty much done mostly. I went for a cursive look to increase speed (for writing) and I feel like it’s style allows for more slight of hand (without becoming illegible) than normal letters but I’m not sure cuz I can’t write fast yet. Lemme know what you think. Pic will be on my channel

    I am working on a conlang which is a simplification of English and designing a new writing system, I think it is a good idea to drop certain uncommon letters and add new letters for common sounds, for exanple in English Q can be represented by a K and the sound Sh could have a new character. It would also make it a lot harder for people to crack and solve as it has different rules even if teh grammar is identical.

    I find the concept of language and communication highly fascinating. From reading scriptures from the past to seeing written signs & symbols in ancient ruins is something quite palpable. It’s like everything correlates so perfectly from how we perceive the outside world within us through communication and understanding to the outer world; planet earth- everything from books, tv, media, radio, internet etc Perception holds value as to how information has been portrayed- construct or abstract. It’s amazing how we are designed in such a way that we are able to experience these concepts as a whole. That also brings more questions: why are we designed the way we are? Why is pie 3:14? What did our ancestors know, that we don’t? What is the meaning of all of this? Everything is all intertwined and that is the beauty. Coming back to secret language, have you ever experienced language/communication that is unarticulated or tacit? Like you know without knowing? I wouldn’t call it telepathy because you don’t sit there with a tin foil hat!! But it’s like something that is not seen/ it’s not tangible. It’s like thought transference, but it’s like only certain humans have a collective understanding from which they perceive.

But further on I made a language too which I called "Pakish" as at that time I was dreaming that there will be a time when it will be the national language of "Pakistan". As I am a Pakistani.. i created a system where consonants are vertical lines-like structure and vowels are single superscript shapes. doubled letters have a dot on top of it.

    is there somewhere i can dm you? i would like to be able to send a picture of what i have so far so that you could help me if thats okay. im having trouble with rules for something specific. basically im separating consonants based on whether you can hold onto/draw them out. so consonants like r, l, m, and n that you can draw out all have a similar base shape for their symbols but i dont know how to differentiate them. same with consonants like t g d and p. they are all going to have similar base shapes but i dont know how to make them different. edit: i figured it out but my ws is very inefficient to write. but, its purely for cheating on tests and passing notes in class so its fine. plus as i start to learn it better it will be easier. bonus tip, if you write “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” it has every letter of the alphabet so its good practice😃👍

    @@ammaralmarzooq5764 abugida usually modify their letter depending on the vowel But an abugida is usually a script where the consonant has an inherent vowel (usually a) some abugidas don't modify their consonants, they just write the vowels
