    This stitch is so much fun, and I love the feel of tube created. The little hint about ending with a head pin and a bead attached-tucked down inside the tube, was new to me. That, I think, is a good excuse for playing with the Russian Spiral stitch again. Thanks, Leah, for sharing this fun stitch with us.

    Hi Leah, thanks so much for this tutorial, I love this stitch! I think someone else asked, but I would love to make a bangle with no clasp, but I have such a hard time “closing the tube.” Do you think you could do a short add-on or new video to show the best way to do this? Or perhaps there is another EC video you can refer me too? Thank you so much! Danielle from CA 😉

    So pretty!!! I just learned the Russian Spiral technique I love it. But I saw other bracelets made with kumihimo I know the technique is totally different. But they look the same (to me I don’t know the kumihimo technique yet )Do you know the difference of the results ? THANK YOU

  • @valhirata9999

    @valhirata9999

    The Russian spiral gives you defining lines with seed beads, and the in between spiral goes in a different direction .. and most times you use seed beads, round, bicone or FP shapes. Kumihimo.. the spirals go in the same direction.. also, you can really play with the amount of strings and bead variations used for varied results both techniques are fun once you’ve chosen the colors !💖

    Dear Leah, I really am inspired by your tremendous videos! Can I substitute 8o for 11? If so what size fits polish or druk w would I need? Also how to figure out how many I need for a necklace? Btw you have a lo elyvoice...very calming videos that cause great I inspiration plus practical problem prevention! Blessings, Grace in Vt

  • @EurekaCrystalBeads

    @EurekaCrystalBeads

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi Grace! If going with an 8/0, you couldn try jumping to a 6mm FP or druk? But I wonder if tension might become an issues...you might have to work harder to keep things from feeling too wonky and loose. If you change the bead size, I'm not sure how many would be needed for a necklace. One you do a sample inch, you should then be able to figure out based on how many it took and how many inches you want the necklace to be. :-)

May i ask where you get your fire polish? i live in Vt in rural area where we sadly have no beads to play with. • @EurekaCrystalBeads

    @EurekaCrystalBeads

    4 жыл бұрын

    Absolutely! I would find it easier to go down a size to 4mm beads in that case though...as with the 6mm's you have to make it quite large to fit over the hand. 4mm's tend to roll on a little easier. :-) -Leah

    How do I add additional thread to my Russian Spiral?

  • @leahwyckoff4791

    @leahwyckoff4791

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Kathleen! The easiest way for my to explain adding thread is with this particular technique: Weaving in a new thread and exit the same spot your old thread is. Take the new thread and the old thread and tie them in a nice tight square knot. Then continue with your spiral on your new thread. Then, a little later, take a needle and weave in those two tails at the joined area (the tail from the new thread and the tale from the old thread), weaving them away from each other in opposite directions and tying a couple of half-hitch knots in your beadwork. :-)

    How many firepolish are needed for a bracelet?

  • @EurekaCrystalBeads

    @EurekaCrystalBeads

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi there! It depends on how large you are making your bracelet and how you are intending to finish it (clasp or sewing it together to make a bangle). It is very hard to estimate.

    @@EurekaCrystalBeads I would like to use a toggle clasp which is about 1.25” total including jump rings. My total bracelet size needs to be 7.75” long. So the beaded part will be 6.5”.
