How to make a router table that fits in a small workshop
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In some of my last projects I had small parts that needed a chamfer done with the router. To do that I had to screw the part onto another sheet and than balance the router on the part to make the chamfer.
It wasn’t only a tedious job, the results weren’t stunning either. That’s when I decided that it was time to make a router table that fits my small workshop.

Using the fence to drill holes and then using the jigsaw to connect the holes for the adjustable fence. Very nice!
I bought this as a gift for my friend kzread.infoUgkxcZqgZ8Ynkiz5n_LxIWRlAicuzmz5kCHG who is just starting out in the world of wood work. He loves it!! There is a great section on different wood and what to use for what kind of job and a similar section for tools as well. The projects in it are things you probably would have a go at with clear instructions, pictures, videos and diagrams throughout. Great for a beginner/amateur wood worker.
Best fence design I've seen in one of these videos. Simple, no metal tracks or bulky clamps, and it looks like it will stay nice and square. Thanks!

Me too. What are they called? I've been trying to look it up......

@@mariawaczek4823 i don't really know but for something similar i use some clamps for holding your bicycle seat up. Don't laugh, 😄, they're amazing. Not from aluminium though, but steel. The downside is that you can't clamp more than 4-5 cm of material. But it's enough for me
Love that square tube rail system.
Only a Genius can imagine and do things like this. This is a serious successfully thinking "out of the box" project. CONGRATULATIONS WORLD ENGINEER !!

I've seen a bunch of router table builds but this is hands down the most efficient for a small workshop DIY'r like me. Well done mate!
Super brilliant. I loved how you anticipated the need for additional support in your table top build. Very nice man!
I absolutely love this. Just got me a router, I’m totally gonna do this. Very practical use of space. Thanks for the video.
That is very clever. I've been looking at something like this. Thank you for sharing.
I have been looking for an easy way to set up my router. This is perfect, I’ll make some slight changes for my workshop but awesome idea. Thanks
This is fantastic! I never would have thought to use the guide rods for easy installation/removal! Great idea, thank you for making a video!!
Brilliant design for a small workshop, with just one router for all tasks. Thanks for sharing
Best DYI table I've found that's simple to make, and easier to store. Well done
That is the best DIY router table I've seen. Easy to make and move out of the way when not being used. Now I just need to build that work bench
You have a very logical and common sense approach and I love how simple this build is. You explained what you were doing and why very well. Thanks.
Probably one of the best home made router tables I've seen. Great job. 👍👍👍

You can achieve anything. The only reason things look simple when I do it is because I made the mistakes earlier 😂
Amazing! A genius is reckonized by how simple he can solve a very complex problem. Thanks for sharing!
Very impressed with forethought in design of work bench to accommodate such an accessory as this router table ~ very creative!

Great! that's awesome to hear! I love it too. Most versions have the router kinda permanent in place. But not everyone owns more than one router..
@belgowulf3147

@@Thepracticalengineer Plus when you want to mouont it on a more permanent table you need to purchase a router lift. Not cheap!
@MrMartwy
4 жыл бұрын
@@belgowulf3147 I've seen solutions with a cheap supermarket scissor car jack, and DIY rails, acting as a router lift. The entire cost may be as low as $20-$25 . Removable version with those metal rails may have a problem with keeping the router bit in a steady 90-degree angle. I would add some kind of removable latch in front of the router to prevent sagging.
BEAUTIFUL job, thank you for posting this video!!!!
