How to make a roller blind?

Ғылым және технология

www.rexelpoland.com/en
You will need: Mylar adhesive tape, a stapler, scissors, and other blind components;
a blind tube that was cut to size, adhesive tape, bottom bar and a piece of fabric.
STEP 1: Prepare a rectangular, window-sized piece of fabric.
STEP 2: Remove adhesive tape cover and carefully attach the fabric to the tube. Leave equal space from the both sides of the tube.
STEP 3: Apply Mylar adhesive tape along the bottom edge of the fabric.
STEP 4: Use a stapler to attach Mylar tape to the fabric and fold it.
One can use the same technique for tubes with groove.
STEP 5: Insert the bottom bar.
Optional: Use REXEL WK-1 inspection hoist to test the roller blinds.
Optional: Use REXEL ZT-1 blinds winding unit to wind the blind before packaging.

I like how everyone is complaining about industrial machinery yet it was only used for cutting and inspection. Like you can use scissors and you don't need to inspect it just install it lol

Why are people complaining about the machines? The only machines he used are ones to hold up the blinds, which we don't need. The only one he used we actually need is the cutter, luckily we have these things called scissors. Or just get it done when you buy the material

Hayley Ryan nobody’s complaining, but when a video is labeled “how to make a roller blind”, and you show how with industrial machinery, it’s not at all what anyone would expect. I mean, did you learn anything useful from this, that you didn’t already imagine? Tube, tape and fabric. What I’m sure most people are interested is how and where to get materials, and a method of construction. The only purpose is to save money, since they want $30-$150 for fabric on a tube.

I consider this video content *'some of the first among many'* in my personal project to fabricate some heavier material, outdoor blinds. I will likely need to also watch videos related to maritime rope & cleat work before I get my personal project done. If people don't want to spend the money on skilled or trades people; they should be prepared to spend 'the time to learn a few new basic skills', including mechanics & physics, hand sewing, inter-language YooTube searches etc. I still liked this video.

In the USA, where are the roller rods sold? Joann's fabric used to sell them but no longer does. It seems that we now have to buy a ready -made vinyl roller blind and remove the vinyl just to have the rod.

There are different blinds components sold separately. Ask any blinds supplier nearby if you want to DIY. Or you can order from Aliexpress/Amazon. Pick a set of components according to the tube diameter you have i.e. 17/28/38 mm or any others. Some components allow installation to the concrete part of the window frame, some you can drill directly to the window or use two-sided adhesive tape.

Damned right! I'm trying to put blackout blinds around the cab of my full-time van and the only way I'm going to get them to fit and run down channels is to make them myself so I wanted to see about the retractable mechanism itself. Then, all going well, to make a vertical one to act as a shower door like the Nautilus retractable shower door. Do you know how hard it is to find someone selling transparent blinds? Not much demand, apparently - can't think why! ;-)

We are not aimed for DIY people, we make machines for bulk production of blinds. If you want DIY blind you can easily order the parts off amazon/aliexpress or nearby blinds manufacturer and cut material using scissors or a scalpel. The blind assembly is straightforward and is done pretty much the same if you DIY or in bulk :)

Very cheap blinds if the material is just stuck to the pole, and a bottom bar is added, instead of a weight inside the fold, don't see the need for the machinery, unless you are making them for a living.
