Hey guys! In this video, I show you how to make a super simple and pretty fondant banner for your cakes using edible markers.

Thank you for sharing this tut super helpful. I am a beginner self-thought cake decorator. Quick question tho, can i use luster dust instead of the edible marker?

Awww you're welcome Lori! Hmmmm, I am sure you can, but it can get a little tricky because you have to have a really thin paint brush and it may not show up really well if it's not the right product. I have used Rolkem Super Gold or Silver (I get it at SugarDelites.com, you can google it to see if it's anywhere else). Mix it with a little lemon extract or Everclear alcohol and paint the letters on.

Sure! I would roll out the background color (the red) like 1/4” thick so I can stick some toothpicks in the fondant so it can stand up on the cake without falling over. Does that make sense?

Hi Lynn! I believe that was about 6-7 inches. For a 1/2 sheet cake, I would make it longer (maybe 10 inches?)
