I love it! I am also from California and just learned about these - while we do not do this tradition, I go to a lot of conventions and several of these tricks and ideas can be employed in cosplay. This was a regional revelation to me, and I love watching it in progress!

we wear them to school the day before the homecoming dance ! and also to the homecoming football game! they're similar to like corsages for other dances

They are a Texas thing. They are worn to school on the Friday of homecoming week and to the homecoming football game. Mums have gotten bigger and bigger since I was in school. Some get to be ridiculous in size but there's a lot of pretty ones.

Can you please list the size of your ribbon and where to purchase ..I'm from California and I know this is a southern or Texas thing.
