    WOW! I gotta say, I've seen any number of tutorials on crafting with paper mache but this is truly impressive. As you point out to someone else, it's not for everyone, it DOES take some effort, but the end result is so worth it. Well done. I imagine your kids are so pleased to have the best pumpkins on the block,lol.

    The more you worked on him the meaner looking he became. So glad you muddied the orange paint. Not a bif fan of neon since i was a toddler. My only problem with the 3 videos was the music was just too loud sometimes.

    Awesome! I made a lot pumpkin now, but one the same this one, but i will use 1_ carta pesta( 4 layers of news paper) 2paper mache and 3 dry wall the last step, before painting

    Spray painting the interior with gloss rustoleum would also provide rain protection.

    This tutorial is amazing and my favorite I've watched so far. I'm a little intimidated to try it, as I've never done anything like this before. I guess I just have to start. LOL Quick question, what is the point of dry brushing on the white? Is it for texture or something? Sorry if that's a dumb question. ;-)

    Realizing this comment was made a year ago, I would like to point out that you can get electric candles these days that actually look like fire. You have to search a bit for ones that really look good but they're out there.

Thank you sooo much for this clear and very concise tutorial : ) Australia has only just cottoned on to this Halloween thing (it wasn't much of a thing when I was growing up in UK either : ( ) too late for my kids but hey we're all kids at heart aren't we?     Cassandra Petri Well, when I first started i'm sure it was somewhere close to 12 hrs not including dry time. I've done so many now that things go much faster.. One like you see in this tutorial i'm sure I could knock out in about 5 hrs worth of work time (not including dry time). How ever I'm doing a different style of pumpkin now and it takes longer

    Yes it will.. in my latest video I put up on setting up my yard for Halloween there are several props on that video that have done 30 days in the weather for the past 6 years

    Yep same here.. when it comes to pumpkins depending on how wide you make the mouth, after they get a lot of rain they will get a bit soft.. then the mouth will start to sag.. but if you stick something back inside to prop it up once it dries out it will be all good again

    I base coat with exterior latex paint and then color it with acrylic paints

    Cut a hole in the bottom and pulled it out.. there are two more steps to this that are in my channel

    I like to make the base dark, it helps to create that shadow between the pumpkin ridges.. I know there are many other ways to do that this is just one way to help achieve it

    The white paint I used on this is just an interior, you could use an exterior if you wanted..

    Dont be frustrated... Every one starts some where... the more you do the better they will get... Trust me, many of the first projects I did, did not turn out the greatest... LOL I laugh at most of the first things I created... Just keep going

    I do use an airbrush at times, but for most my tutorials I try to show how to get results with basic tools. There are a lot of people out there who don't have an airbrush and I want them to know they can get the job done without it. And I must admit I enjoy using a brush
