Well done, this method solves so many problems at once, is easy, cheap, and looks nice. It also incorporates many gardening methods into one. • @thematrix3663

My understanding is that every time the soil is filled it destroys mini ecosystems and the soil is in a constant state of rebuilding. No till adds rather than takes away. The ultimate is to build the fertility of the soil to a point where little to no amendments will need to be made to have successful harvests.

Yeah, the cardboard. I started collecting cardboard boxes at the top of my driveway at the beginning of the pandemic back in February. The post office staff and various delivery drivers must have thought I'd turned into some kind of hobo or something. About a month ago when I started spreading the cardboard on my lawn my neighbors must have joined the post office and the delivery drivers thinking I've lost my mind. I now have an 8mx8m space for growing things. Thanks for the video! We're not all crazy :)

Me too! I've got some collected beside my shed to lay down before winter maybe. Not sure if that's a good idea or just wait until spring and try to keep it dry. Suggestions welcome! @@TerryMcGearyScotland Hi Terry, I'd go ahead and do it now to make absolutely sure that the weeds have croaked by early spring. The other advantage is you can focus on planting in spring rather than having to do the task then. In my space I'll be covering the exposed spoil that has no plantings with a tarp which I will remove when planting season rolls around.

The afternoon shower wasn't looked at as an encumbrance but as one less step in the growth of his lettuce. With his usual silence, Dutch was able to show 'the way' for those who seek solace by watching others get their knees dirty and plant things. Thank you for an amazing video.

Whenever you try something new, keep a usual planted few to compare. The cardboard for me kept the weeds down which I liked. But that section planted in corn seedlings and one section of corn seedlings without cardboard and there was a difference. The ones with the cardboard were yellowish compared to the good green old style way. I carefully pulled out all the cardboard and those plants greened up and caught up to the healthier ones thankfully. I did like your presentation though. And there is much some can learn in just watching you setting things up.

I LOVE that he doesn't waste a bunch of time running his mouth about a bunch of elementary information that we very likely already know or we wouldn't have sought out the video. THANK YOU! Oh... and the garden looks great.
