Great! Thank you so much for showing and explaining! Although I'm not a native speaker I could understand everything because you speak clearly in a calm voice. Great plate you made!

I used a slab to make a plate yesterday and gosh I wish I had seen this first. I LOVE the idea of using the bendy cutting board!! This is an amazing piece you’ve made. I used to make polymer clay pieces like this and can’t imagine doing it with regular clay!! I’ve never thought of using wax resist on greenware!! Great idea!!

Beautifully cheerful colourful plate. I do a pottery class and have a fold away kitchen table where I do some at home and I've been interested in nerikomi, but I have only done a simple checkerboard with a blue clay, and it was so mess. Your method with the bagged slip is genius. I am also experimenting with adding iron oxide instead of stains as it's cheaper. Thanks again for sharing your amazing work. :)

New to pottery here. Amazing bravo 🙌🏻…. Question: why do you wait two weeks before firing?

  • @MairaKolan

The clay has to be super dry before firing. If there is water in the clay at the firing, it can break.
