How To Make A Natural-Looking Topiary - DIY Rustic Topiary Decor
Ойын-сауық
This is more of a natural take on the usual artificial topiary. An array of sprigs burst outward from the top of a wooden stem, giving it a rustic look while still keeping its elegant appeal with the traditional topiary shape.

That was smart to glue a small bit of the folage to the trunk part of the topiary, so it appears to have new growth ... 🌿

Thanks Charlotte! Yes, Peep was singing away! :) - Christopher
Very nice! I’m curious to what the supplies cost. I got a couple almost just like this online from Pottery Barn on sale (I never pay full price for things I don’t really need!). I paid $35/each for them after the sale, I think like 80% off, due to it being from last season’s unwanted little darlings. They we’re expensive at full price. It was new to me, so who cares if they were left behind and not sold to last season’s crowd. Plants don’t go out of date…you either love them or not, right! I don’t do trends, I do what I love and feel cozy with! Btw, this one looks just as good if not better than the “high end” purchase!❤️

Thank you! The cost for supplies for this project wasn't too much. I recorded this during the very beginning of Covid and was digging through the basement to find things I already had that I could make into new decorations. The greenery was part of a long garland I purchased on sale for around $6 (originally $12), the branch was from outside, the floral foam & moss were from Dollar Tree, & I think the planter was from Hobby Lobby (most likely $4 as I would have purchased it half off). :) - Christopher
HI CHRIS. 🧡🧡🧡 LOVE, JOHN PAUL. 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
😍😍😍😍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I hear your darling canary trilling in the background. Was this Peep?

Hi Jo Ann! Yes, that was Peep in the background :) - Christopher
Your topiary turned out so beautiful...and you didn’t burn yourself with the hot glue like I always do! I also love the orchid arrangement behind you...would you mind sharing the source?

Thanks Roxanne! The orchid behind me was from Marshal's but it came in a modern style planter (that was broken). I added floral foam and moss to a different planter that I had (from Hobby Lobby) & then added the orchid stems :) - Christopher

Christopher, it really makes a statement! I have a large Chinese blue and white footbath I wanted to fill with silk orchids...until I started pricing them! Once life returns to normal I will start hunting for something affordable I can “repot”. Thank you.
I have a question do you think its appropriate to keep your winter wreath out, I have one on my front door in the house and one on the garage door garage side..they have pine cones and white poinsettas..on them..what do you think?
@ChristopherHiedeman

Hi JL Mathews! I personally change out my wreaths for various seasons, but some wreaths I own I think fit any time of year so I leave those up. Poinsettias are usually considered a winter flower, being seen more around the holidays, so when I see poinsettias, I think of winter. At the same time, decorating is a personal preference & what I choose to leave up year round might be different than what others would. If they make you happy, leave them up. But if you are feeling like a change, change them out :) - Christopher

@@ChristopherHiedeman Thanks so much for the wonderful advice...the wreaths are really pretty I just didn't know about the pine cones on it and Poinsettas..It does look good on the door thou, the other one I have in the garage on the door so it really doesn't matter..
What type of foliage did you use? I would love to try this ❤️
@ChristopherHiedeman

Hi Karen, I'm not exactly sure what type it was - it was a garland from Hobby Lobby that I cut into pieces. Wish I had a better answer for you! :) - Christopher
