What a great build to complete my RLM binge on. That's it, both channels watched up to date and loved it all. It's been very interesting to see how you and the channels grew and changed over the past few years, starting DIY, going artsy, and finally coming full circle (with more refinement and skill) ...and all without a table saw ;) Great stuff mate, keep it up and on to 100k one day. Way to represent Aussie makers.

So simple but yet so elegant & functional. This would be a great starter project for some one with beginner skills. Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!

Adding felt to the sides of the drawers (or drawer openings) would help with them binding when you are putting them in and out. It would act almost like runners and keep from scratching up the paint.

Really cool, I liked the included reasoning for tools and techniques

Removable bins are the absolute way to go for toy storage. One suggestion would be to add hand holds into the sides of the bins. When our daughter was a toddler, we discovered that handles made a big difference for her ability to manage bins with two hands. The easier she could shift them, the more likely she was to put the bins back.

I like the contrast between the white and the wood grain. Makes for a nice look. But I agree, child will be at the wifi router before you know it so that drawer need something!

I use that technique whenever I can either hide it or "make it a feature". Very useful when your clamps don’t reach. But do remember: glue WILL stick to the screw. So remove it before it sets up completely. If you wait too long you will break the screw at the point where the stem turns into the spiral. Easy to hide with a shorter dowel, but the broken part is in there forever. Might be inconvenient if you do this when you are making your workbench top... and than need to drill a dog hole in that exact spot. Don't ask me how I know this. :-( But removing it too early may be a problem if you are forcing bent wood into shape. A thicker screw gives you a little more time before you need to remove it, since it is stronger. I would recommend 6 mm screws for this. 4 mm is not enough.

Creative, how much did you waste on all material

Hey Robin, Brilliant work as always! Just a quick question. Have you considered using a paint sprayer? In some cases it can give a more even coating of paint and can be easier to use. Anyhow, looking forward to the next video!!!

Thanks man! It's funny you ask, I seriously debated it on this one. I've got one of those airless sprayers, and I keep wanting to try it, but I've become so used to a roller now that it's hard to break the habit

I have tried with a airless sprayers and I find small, confined areas like the inside of the cabinet ends up being a pain - on the outside, the job is done in no time - and even.

For the router box you should make a dummy box, I know that my kid will pull the box out at least once

The glue is enough but I was using the screws as a way of clamping, while the glue dries

very slick Rob, please don't take two-man lifts foregranted though, I wrecked my shoulder a little over a year ago lifting something not all that heavy, I am still basically a socially acceptable junky going through physio and probably going to end up undergoing surgery. I know it seems unmanly asking for help but....... I didn't and my life hasn't been the same since.

@@RobinLewisMakes yeah, I get you, the keter box I picked up that dislocated was sub 40kgs it was more the awkward shape (long) that stuffed me. Trust me we are not getting younger.
