Only when starting to do leather work did I realize what a high level of skill you have attained. You are right, doing manual tasks on cheap leather again and again is the way to build craftsmanship. Thanks for all you do!

I dig the design. Simple. Clean. Relative to a project, I have been sketching out a pencil case. When I was young and in school I had a tan pencil case that was almost like a leather tube with a zipper. As a kid it was the magic pencil bag. In my adult years I look for ways to bring childhood simplicities back...because who wants to be an adult all the time.

Can't thank you enough for these videos and inspiration. These little card holders and wallets are going to be my first projects. I'm very excited.

I made this wallet after watching this about 3 years ago and it has been excellent and still has no visible wear marks, I edge it in brown and that hasn't cracked either. Today I ordered the acrylic template from Buckleguy to start making more for friends and family. Thank you for this video.

So I was at work the other day and I was putting on my work tool belt and I started thinking that you guys would be great to make some leather ones love your videos and very educational actually the reason why I have started leather crafting as a new hobby!

For years, I have been using flexible clear plastic cutting boards from the Dollar store to help with pattern making. They work great! I never knew until today that you sold pattern plastic :)

I know in most of your videos you don't do much dying, but I would like to see a professional perspective on the marble dying technique. I am so very new at leather crafting, and I'm so inspired by Corter and Weaver. I would love to see a pattern for a simple glasses case. What's really holding me back is picking the leather - I'm not sure what would be the best/safest leather for glasses. I guess I'm looking for some suggestion as to what would be stiff enough to provide some protection, but have a soft side that wouldn't scratch up my lenses. Love you guys!

Great project! Thank you for the video, pattern and the giveaway! I would love to see some more wet-molded projects. Perhaps a knife sheath (both folding pocket knife and fixed blade).

One future aim of mine is to make a hip-bag to carry some leather working essentials to a public show next year. It will be a very complex build for me as it would be built to perform a specific task, but also incorporate lots of different geometry and design elements. (Buckles, Zippers, Belt, clasps etc...) Possibly too much for a single video, but I'd love to see your take on something like that! Thanks again for all the great tips and advice!!!

Awesome wallet! This style of wallet is the whole reason I started googling leather working in the first place and ended up subscribing months ago. Trust that this wallet would find a good home with me. I have a few video ideas to share. It would be cool to see a molded sunglasses case. I’d like to see a folding iPad/iPhone case that folds and acts as a stand. A long, folding, zippered women’s wallet would make a nice project like the Frye Melissa zip around. But a video I’d really like to see would be one that goes into the details like - I see you press your logo into the leather, if I wanted to press my logo where would someone get that tooled? What are the best types of leather? I’d like to hear more about the tools you use- what are good brands, what should I avoid? That kind of thing. I’ve enjoyed your channel. Keep up the good content!

I would love to see you make a stay-on slip cover for a Kindle reader with a pocket on the back for a stand. I’m trying to work out the pattern for one but I only work in fabric I’m afraid. Love your videos and the skills you have.

Try a holster. A pancake holster with a tooled stiffener. Or you could do a double layer belt. Both is a lot harder than people think. But I'd love to see you go for the holster. I love your work. I've been doing leather work since I discovered your channel and you make it look so easy I thought hmm I could do that lol. Well it wasn't so easy of course now I got the fundamentals down and make wallets,belts,holsters,zippo cases wet formed etc. I do tooling a lot now. Thanks for all the info. Love the new format where you teach what you're doing.

Great video. I'm about to take leathercraft up as a hobby and have a suggestion for a small project. A leather key fob cover for the ones like the GM fob where the key slides out of the side.

Seeing that blockbusters card had me going down memory lane... Nice video! I want to make one now! (Edit: I stopped the video to comment then realized I should make a suggestion! I have a small zipper shaving pouch, good for a razor, brush, travel tube of cream and some tweezers etc. A small shave pouch/mini dopp bag would be really cool!!)

I'm digging that wallet! I'm going to try and replicate it, but with some extra card sleeves. Here's an idea: could you make a belt from scratch? Cheers!
