There is no use of becoming a billionaire in rdr2. One can't even spend 50k in it.

It is much faster to go to Limphany and get gold bars multiple times. Then it's $500 per bar.

I used that too. Third time you picked it up you can set up camp right there and fast travel directly to Emerald Ranch and sell the large jewelery bags - take the train back to Wallace station - rinse and repeat. You loose $9 for the train ticket, but I think it's still faster than going to Strawberry. Maybe there's a faster way to cycle through this, I'm new to the game.

Get the Legend of the East satchel and you can hold 99 jewelry bags. Doing this while only being able to carry 3 is...pretty stupid and just a huge waste of time. Especially if you're going to do it 20,000 times to get a million dollars

There are lots of places to do that in the game

Yes. You can progress the story. Go all the way to the other side of the map. Save, exit, start back up and it respawns. Chest might be closed after a while but it always respawns. I did it in early chapter 2 for some quick cash and the cigarette cards and then hit it back up throughout the story and even in the epilogue.
