Just want to take a moment to acknowledge that this is some of the highest production video content to a laughably low view count. This channel is def gonna blow up. I've already binged through 10 or so vids already this week. You've already caused me to buy some silly liqueurs, lol!

Spectacular information content!
Stunning. I should definitely try this drink!
The name of this cocktail drew me in to watch this. I almost clicked away when I heard it was made with gin as I generally don't care for gin, but this looks so refreshing and tasty I may have to try it! "Come out of the cupboard, you sherries and gins!" -- The Clash

Just mixed this. Total high five. Brilliant mix of tastes. Soooo balanced and refreshing. 👍🏻
Really liked it, learning about the other spirits history is pretty cool, helps to appreciate the other spirits my friends and family loves to drink, yeah, the mentions at the end, very nice touch
My kind of history lesson! Top channel.
I have enjoyed finding and exploring your channel recently. Your take on drinks as a Scottish woman working at a Spanish bar in Australia (!?!) brings very different flavor profiles and ingredients than is typically used here in the US. I've tried several of the Sherry drinks you have profiled, and the London Calling is definitely my favorite! Thanks so much, and keep up the great work!
Looks like a new addition for my home repertoire. I just need to fine a fancy coupe glass for serving it in style.
Soo. Finally saw this one. Sounds amazing! Have to get some nice sherry and try it. And to answer the question about favourite gin. Not always, but for GT for sure, my homemade "Ginfusion". Vodka infused with fresh gin aromatics. Easy and really flavourful!
Finally I might've found a use for that bottle of Sherry in my cupboard ! ;)
Thank you so much, Cara !! Before watching your channel, the thought of drinking sherry - of any kind - had never held any interest for me Lo and behold, I found myself buying a bottle of fino sherry at the liquor store, then making a London Calling for my wife and me, and it was love at first sip for both of us !! Thank you so much for your excellent cocktails and the details on every ingredient. Best cocktail channel on KZread!

This is one of the most refreshing cocktails. I love it with 45 ml Fords gin, 15 ml fino, 20 ml lemon, 15 ml simple and 2 dashes orange bitters. Sensational!

I bought a Ford's Gin with extra botanicals in a Christmas package. What in the world do you do with those herbs?
Just discovering this channel. Thank you for the very well made video. Bars in my country (Japan) does not seem to offer it but will look. Sounds like a delicious drink unlike the music of the same name lol.

Haha, before I had sat down to watch some more of your interesting videos, I made myself a John Collins which coincidentally has gin in it! And there you are stating that it was World Gin Day when you did this episode. Now you know! 😄
Your videos have really excited my interest in the alchemy of cocktail making. I especially love this drink. I appreciate what you did at the end of the video when you riffed on the variations of the cocktail (ie tuxedo, white lady). I wonder if someone with your knowledge and proven ability to make learning fun and easy would be able to put together some kind of flow chart or "cocktail tree" diagrams. That kind of information would be so intriguing and for me would help me flow in a creative process with the alchemy. Keep up the videos please, I also use the cocktail recipes on your website a lot and would be psyched if there were more of the drinks on there. Thanks.

Great video! I have not heard of this one. For readily available gins, I am a big fan of Tanquery. I am currently really enjoying a California gin called Junipero. It's a bold Juniper flavor, nice high proof, and quite affordable. Sadly, not available in Canada, so I will be buying more when I go back to the U.S

@@BehindtheBar Out of curiosity, is your Beefeater, Tanqueray, etc watered down to 40% there as well? I know the U.S. gets a much more respectable 47% abv for those big brands.
@BehindtheBar

@@ianholmes6078 Junipero is awesome! Tanqueray is definitely great as a go to, holds up in almost everything. It is 40% here, for tax reasons. It's also why Aussie gins tend to be a little on the expensive side- the government have done a lot to support the wine industry here, but tax hits distillers pretty hard!
And I live by the river.
Special request from my kids for virgin kid cocktails. Like the Brooke shields or anything else they can make after watching me follow your videos. Thanks so much.

Be reassured, being Spaniard, my Grandma would have Fino, Manzanilla and a decent sweet Oloroso, and no doubtful Cream Sherry at her place. But she was rather into Chartreuse green ;-)

Yass Grandma!
I’m a big fan of Bombay Sapphire, what are your thoughts on it? Maybe cocktails you think it lends itself to? I live in Japan and usually shake it up with different citrus flavors available over here, most of them much more mild than a typical lemon/lime.
@BehindtheBar
Жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s really light and floral so citrus driven drinks work well! Something like a Bramble with berry flavours works nicely too 😊

I just got done watching "Sherry: Everything you need to know!" video and I'm wondering if it would be okay to substitute Manzanilla sherry here if I can't fin Fino since they are similar.
