Hi, I downloaded blender on my apple mini computer and also downloaded mecabricks, but I wasn’t able to install the mecabricks add on to blender. Why is the reason for that, why can’t I connect the two together?

Just a few things to note. When selecting the set you can just right click the collection and press select hierarchy Also the randomise button is only available with Mecabricks Advanced

When you import any model from Mecabrick immediately rescale it by 0.01 to match Blender's default sizes, then Alt S to set the new size back to 0.

My god, I didn't know about the camera clipping trick, insane.

Rather than making the light sources super bright, I wou'd really suggest scaling down the models upon importing. Difference might not be obvious but it is really good for more realistic light bounces and other rendering aspects.

How are you achieving depth of field in your shots? The mini figures from meca brick import huge and epic fig rig doesn't work when you scale the figure down, so I'm stuck with the default scaling and can't get any shallow Dof in my shots. Would love to hear some Ideas for a work around.

For some reason when I double click the zip file to turn it into an add on for Blender it just goes into the file, showing loaders and stuff. I think on Mac it just unzips the file but do anyone know any other reasons why this might happen?

Yes you’d just need to export/import to mecabricks and then download from there

I did everything you did in the video but when I go into the camera view the set disappears even if I zoom out and only a bit of it renders (8:47)

make your "end" in the "view" panel and make the "end" a lot higher

When you import from meca pick blender add on then it will work

when i want to insert my structure built on mecabricks, it doesn't work because there is no mecabricks option. why?

do a lightsaber tutorial i can do them in after effects but i cant figure out how to do them in Blender

Why when i switch the viewport shading, both options look exactly the same? I have scene lights and scene world checked. Theres the 4 viewport shadings, the wire one, the filled in dot one, and then the two beside it. Those are the two that have no difference, like as in the final render preview shading looks very low quality and cartoony and flat, nothing at all realistic like in the video

I discovered the problem, as of 16/4/2024, blender lite is only usable up to blender 4.0, so i am now using an older version of blender and it is working.

When I imported, It came up with an error log and there was nothing there
