Totally agree about the continuing journey of learning throughout our lives . Since my 70 th birthday in August 2019 , I have learnt so much and still have much yet to learn about journaling , art , craft work and people through connecting with fellow journalers and penpals . I come back to your videos over and over again.I can watch your episodes 10 times over and still find something new to learn. It is the same thing I feel when watching 49Dragonflies and Frugal Crafter. Just about all your ideas can be translated to digital art which is what I am doing right now. Ah, how I love your philosophy on the art of play, and the play of art! You are so encouraging and inspiring! It’s fun to use up supplies, and it’s fun to get new ones...I got Panpastels I want to try in journaling. I like to use Derwent Inktense blocks and pencils because they are fixed after they dry. I love my watercolors! I seldom use acrylic except for printing, though I am determined to unlock its secrets. Gesso and textured paste are lots of fun layers to add! I like to stencil these for some architecture.

I just made some coffee. I decided to take in another showing of this video. It's amazing how you see things differently than the first time. Or see new things you might have missed the first time. The Childrens book pages are wonderful. I love the feel of the older book pages. I do love the watercolor pencils. I have "heard" you talk and show "don't be afraid of writing in your journals. Even on book pages"

Every page is truly unique. Just adore watching, listening for ideas for future projects. I always come away learning more than I knew before you turned on the camera. These pages from your beautiful books are truly amazing. I love the bubble wrap. I have used balloons partially blown up. We might look at the other side of 2020.The virus Covid-19 has been such a horrific illness for now over a million people. I was unwell the entire year and some. However, since I must stay put, Dr. orders as my immune system is very low. However, all that to say, I adore watching your videos, and getting to know you better. A new friend in 2020 rather than focus on that which I can only pray for all who have been involved in the Virus. Physicians, patients, nurses, and then the Election. (enough said) Here in a small corner of the USA I think of my life & the wonderful blessing of having you, and other wonderful, artistic, talented new friends. How are you enjoying sewing? How do you keep the chalks from moving to a place on the previous page? I have found The cushion from previous pages help get a sharp print when you stamp. Loved our time together tonight I apologize for my Novel I’ve seemed to have written. Imagine what my journals look like!! Hello Jolie, who knew????? Bubble wrap, what a wonderful surprise. The texture you got with it was wonderful. I am going to try it in my journal. I am a relative newby, just since we went into lockdown in March. I have learnt such a lot and i have discovered a love of journalling. I usually paint on canvas, but during the lockdown ran out of product and so had to find something else to do. Saw your channel in which you used envelopes to make a journal, and BOY, was i hooked. I just love, love, love this new medium {for me} and so have to say a big THANK YOU for introducing me to another art form which i can do anytime with all my {so called} junk and recyclebles. You and I approach junk journalling so differently, and I'm fascinated watching you create. The way you make your vlogs is unique (from my experience) than others I've come across. I've watched enough of yours that I plan to binge watch all of them. Your voice is calm and inviting. You express your thoughts and decisions as you go, staying on topic. You're teaching viewers, but not necessarily to copy you, instead you encourage them to take what they've learned and to play and explore with their own creativity. I wish I could do more than give you a 👍. I intend to incorporate what I'm gaining from you to broaden my repertoire of techniques and creativity. I completed my first junk journal to give to my daughter. It has 3 signatures, one of the folders with the notebook and 2 of the 5 pockets that you have videos for. It was hard for me to know when to stop. I just made things from my stash and just kept cramming it in there. It is so fat and chunky. I hope she loves it. Thanks for your lovely ideas. I have learned so much!

Just a tip Joie, When using markers please note that you can go over water color with them but there is something about acrylic's that will dry the marker out immediately. I found this out the hard way and while using my only expensive micron marker. I love love spending time learning from you.

I love your Ideas! Everything comes together so smoothly. I like to use gesso on some of the pages that are shiny. I also use stencils and inks to blend in the colors. I also cover up things by gluing napkins. TFS Hugs!

Bing bong Bing bong ... tik tak tik tak. I enjoy your putting those sounds to opening the flips back and forth. It is fun to do that! (I read about the 'rule of ablaut republication' that says we like tik tak better than tak tik. The vowels have to be in order I A O to sound right to our ears.)

I've finished the cover and now the inside. I find it difficult because I think too straight color by color and item by item. but you don't have to. I have all kinds of paper and also different kinds of written text and font, so it should work for once. I really want to make a journal like this. I really like this so much

What do you suggest would be the right pen to write in these type of journals especially on glossy paper 😊😊

I would probably add a mat to write on where it's glossy, or a pocket with a card.....I then tend to use my Lamy fountain pen, or an Arteza fineliner. ❤️❤️❤️
