How to make a homemade DIY Kettlebell with Chad Scott Charleston Southern University

Coach Chad Scott from Charleston Southern University shows how to make a kettlebell out of things you can buy at Lowes or Home Depot. This is a great kettle bell if you are on a budget and still want to get some swings in. It will cost about 20-25 bucks for a kettle bell that you can load with 2.5's, 5's, and 10lb weight plates. This is a very good do it yourself project that can save your school some money if you don't have it in the budget.
This demo was performed at Dorman High school located in Roebuck, SC during a South Carolina Strength Coaches association clinic. The clinic is put on during the same time as the Shrine Bowl held in Spartanburg, SC.
Thank you Coach Scott for the great DIY kettlebell.

These work great. Use a stainless steel hose clamp to secure the top plate. Have Home Depot cut the threads off the outer ends of the grips.

Gonna go to HD tomorrow. Trying to figure out how to connect a carabiner to the top.... then it can double as the weight plate for a cable system

You actually want a U shaped shackle at top. Just drill a hole in pipe T, shackle goes over pipe T and pin goes through hole. Shackles are at most hardware stores.

Anyone try anything to make it adaptable to do overhead movements. I was thinking a canvas strap threaded through possibly but could be sketchy.

Only good for 2 handed swings, deadlifts, squats. Can't really do anything else you do with a proper KB. You should add another upper section to enclose the handle to make it more appropriate.

you could easily make a true kettle bell handle using the same idea. add some 90 degree elbows and some more pipe.

Great Video! Apologies for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you heard about - Chireetler Kettlebell Miracle Rule (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for learning some amazing kettlebell challenge workouts without the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my best friend Jordan after a lifetime of fighting got amazing results with it.
