Exactly what I’m doing for my dog behind the back landscaping where he likes to run. My flagstones are oddly shaped, though, but it will be better than the cardboard pieces I laid down to kill the weeds! Thanks! I didn’t even think of the sand! Better get some!

Your post is greatly appreciated. Plan to install a paver walk has been stalled by being overwhemed by "ALL" the other professional and DIY UTube post. Your post was straight forward, easy to understand: You made it less complicated. Your "Can Do" attitude, refreshing and inspiring - thanks

I used play sand when I ran out and found that the weeds loved😫 Now I'm having to redo it. I love that flagstone. I can't find rectangle flagstone, just random pieces. Nice job!

Paths are necessary and absolutely wonderful. Yards are cleaner, better looking and easier to maintain. Awesome! I will try this for sure!

Love this! I'm going to do the same and use pea gravel instead of mulch to make the path stand out a bit. Thank you!!

Looks well kept I've always wondered about mulch if it attracts ants and creatures

I’ve never had an issue with mulch attracting more insects than would otherwise be there if it were just dirt.

What size are your flagstone? Have been looking for some that are a rectangle shape but can't find where I live.

They are all about 12 inches x 18 inches. I think I got them at HomeDepot.

We set stepping stones in mulch, and the mulch just ends up covering the stones. How do you solve this?

I put a landscape edge on both sides of the path and set the stones about equal to the top of that edge. I haven’t had a problem with the mulch covering the stones. I am also using really course mulch, so that probably helps as well.
