It has an extended height vertical shaft with a holder for Dremel bits and a hook to hang one of the hanging type Dremel motors. I chose not to use that, so it's easy to keep it short and simple. The Dremel fastens in by removing the threaded collar for attachments and then setting it in the fixture and there's a threaded collar in this stand and a wrench to tighten it. It works well, but I don't think I want to routinely take it on and off again to use the Dremel by hand. I'll buy another Dremel and keep the current one in this fixture.

I like that amongst the tools needed / used to make this drill press was a drill press 😆

this is by far the simplest and most reliable diy drill press. the sliding tube looks strong enough and doesnt seem to have any play, unlike 99% diy crap on youtube.

Great little project for a weekend. Just need a bit of metal, my everlast and some time.

I've seen so many videos on making a drill plunger and this is the first one I see where you did something so common sense as to put the springs in a pulling action rather than a plunging action. So simple yet this is the first time I've seen it used.

You did a good job, well done. I would make the arm a little longer so you can fit larger items beneath the drill and make the bottom plate so that you can mount it. I'm amazed your welding was so accurate on the arm to the drill socket. If that sint flush to the horizon all that work would be for nothing. Well done good sir.

¡Qué temerario eres! Yo no me atrevo a cortar metales, con disco de corte, sino está bien sujetado a una base estable y con su guarda de protección. Yo supe de un metal - mecánico que murio al incrustársele una esquirla de disco de amoladora manual, en la frente, al intentar cortar el gancho de un candado. Hey thanks for the video ,I was searching online to buy a table press drill. To make square holes -very expensive set drill plus drill bits -with your video I just save $300.
