Wife wanted me to build some floating cat shelves for out cats. I think this would be a better option! Thanks for the idea Patrick.. We have 7 cats and 2 dogs. We rescued a cat who had 3 kittens. Intention was to give them away but being the animal lovers we are we still have them 3 years later! Our furbies are family! Haven't heard in a while but hope Ice is doing well!

Thumbs up looks great. I want to create a similar shelf with just the treads and risers floating.
Good Job Patrick, I made something similar by stepping up three boxes and use them for book shelves. Now the cats can get from my computer desk to a loft shelf i built into the corner near the ceiling.
Cool build Patrick. Nice to see you smiling again. Great vid by the way.

Nice job, cats do like heights they think that they are... the kings when it comes to spying on you if not look down on you, if you know what I mean. I have two Persian cats at home and I have a project that I will be doing on my channel when the wood has the age of being outside for more 2 years. It is a certain look that I am looking for that I think, that you would like to make as well when it comes to cat stands. I give your Cat wallmount a Thumbs Up a very well done!

Very great idea using a backboard for it, rather than using underside support beams. You may have had a slightly easier time painting if you did the painting before screwing it together, i know those corners can be tough to paint properly
@Patricksworkshop

hey I was wondering why you used the plywood and not shelf brackets to hang the steps? I'm looking into ideas to make a wall mounted cat tree/wall shelves.

I like the straight edge you used to get a straight cut on that plywood. Your clamping sled is a good idea too. Is that metal rod on the back for anything in particular or just to help move it around?

Just a quick question: You used brad nails to connect the pieces that you glued, then later you drilled/countersunk/screwed the same pieces together?
Sure would have liked to see them in use by your cat so we have a better idea of what the end product provides.
With toys like that, i wish i were a cat

You may have mentioned this in the video, forgive me if I missed it... I want to build this and I'm shopping for a nail gun. What gauge nails did you use here? Thanks!
@Patricksworkshop
7 жыл бұрын
hi i used 18 gauge nails with a 18 gauge brad nailer but all the strength comes from the glue and the 2 inch screws I used I hope this answers your question thanks for watching my videos and if you have any more questions please feel free to ask

one might say "better a cat shelf video than a cat video" - lol. You could have some fun with that by mounting the shelf to a stud on balance point so it wouldn't fall, but it would pivot on the wall ... I say I "could" but seriously speaking ... don't. I like cats.
good project, video too long. cut repetitions out or long processes short
