definitely like the idea of a wood top cause you can even design it or paint it differently ❤😀🙂

I like that you explain things as you go. I was going to do the 5 gallon but after watching your video I changed to the one you showed. Thanks.

Cool. I like how you turned a problem into a feature (the bottom of the trash can skirting the side of the concrete base). Nice improvisation

Sounds like a good idea, just be sure to make it heavy enough to hold up the umbrella 👍

I really like your novation here. My only concern, does the amount of time spent and materials purchased really justify making the stand? Buying a nice cast iron umbrella stand for $45 - $65 is a better approach IMHO. However, if you have the concrete already and some time to spare, your idea is perfect. Nice video.

Thanks you're right sometimes it's better just to buy. I all the stuff on hand already and needed a heavy base and couldn't find anything comparable 👍

@@dnm6445 it does have quite a bit of gravel in it. I'd probably wait to move it around for a week. Depending how warm it is and how wet the mix was. It'll set up within a day but concrete takes usually a month to reach full strength

I need heavy base because area I live in is windy and heavy base will work as stand alone without umbrella having to go through table hole👍 this only cost me a bag of concrete
